Comment by Chris Randall on December 23, 2012 at 5:08pm Handyman, I'll be up in Chiang Mai by the middle of January for at least a month or two. See you then!
If you're going down south, I highly recommend Trang. Really unique place, not at all touristy. Lots of cool beaches near there too, wonderful sites. Plus plenty of amazing chempadak! :)
Comment by Louise Koch on December 23, 2012 at 12:27am I'm in Chiang Mai, North Thailand at the moment and will be here for a couple of months. I wonder if anyone is aroundt who would like to celebratw x-mas eve together (24th of dec). There are a few other 80/10/10'ers here but they celebrate on the 25th.
Comment by HandymanBananas on December 22, 2012 at 9:29am Ticket to Bankok bought. Leaving on the 27th of this month (December). Will be there for the new years then heading south for a couple weeks then up the Chiang Mai for a month or so. If you are anywhere out there in Thailand let me know. Would love to get some tips on travel and the hang out with some fellow fruities.
thanks for the advice Shanti and Chris - can't wait to find the sugar cane juice - I've had it in chiang mai and love it. I have thus far (in bangkok) been feasting at the supermakets - love the fresh juice at paragon - but its starting to get really expensive - I need to find the local markets soon and start cutting my fruit for myself! I do have a bike but I will be living way off in the burbs (pin kloa) so I am not sure how useful my bike will be - I really don't want to ride it on an insane highway and that limitation might make it hard to get my bike to town - but I am sure there should be places to bike to in pin kloa). Chris - I look forward to checking out your video - will have to wait until I have better internet access.

Klongtoey is my favorite place to get fruit in BKK. The prices are so cheap that bulk purchase deals aren't really necessary. Check out my video HERE.
I seem to remember there being a good sugar cane juice stand, last time I was there, on the left side of Rama IV as you are heading east towards Klongtoey. Siam Paragon has a great selection of fresh pressed juices too, in the wing with the organic produce.
Comment by Shanti Freesman on November 27, 2012 at 3:02pm Warrarot is probably the best and easiest market to find in Bangkok, but there are lots of different places to look around and explore, especially if you have a bicycle. I am pretty sure there was another discussion here somewhere that talked about more details on markets and organic shops in bangkok. A lot of the organic shops sell quite a few local juices, I don't remember for sure but am pretty sure they had cane sugar. They definitely have a green juice which I like, hibiscus tea, passionfruit juice, and a few other types.
