Hi everyone.
I was just wondering if where to get bulk of fruit from for a better price (particularly bananas and dates or anything else and also organic would be good to know as well)
I live near the South Road, Cross Road intersection
Thanks, this will be super helpful,
Elena :)

However the minimum that can be ordered is 3x6kg bundles weighing 20 kg and delivery for those is between 40-50 dollars which works out to be $12.75 per kilo maximum. The amount wouldn't be too much of a problem because I'm sure other Adelaide raw foodies would love to share and buy some from you :) I've looked and this is the best I can find price wise but if anyone found cheaper I'd love to hear!

Awesome, thanks a heap Lucia, this is a big help. That is a pretty reasonable price. $230 for 18kg, wow a lot of dates!!! Mmmm, I will look into it! Thankyou for doing the maths for me :) I will look around also and if I find a better deal I will let everybody know :)
Permalink Reply by Juliana on April 19, 2012 at 10:58am If you're looking for dates, these people are also pretty good but are overseas. http://www.datepeople.net/2011-2012-price-list. If you send them an email, they'll give you a price list including shipping... a standard box for them is usually under $100 with shipping (forgot the weight).
Cheap fruit..... depends on where you live. I go to Central market, Mariana's Market (just outside Central... got 26kg of banana's for $6 once), occassionaly Wilson's, Affordable Organics on Arthur Street, Magill and Organically grown on St. Bernards road (if you're familar with Harley's video's he refers to it as Clinton's). And my favourite place... the Sunday Market at Wayville Showground!
But of course the cheapest bulk produce comes from snooping out your area and doornocking on houses with fruit frees =) ... or just finding family friends with fruit trees.... or even still, growing your own!
and no way.... you live near south road? I go to TAFE at Regency.... we should meet some day!!!!! =D
Yay, thankyou heaps, sorry this is a short reply as I am rushing out again :)
Permalink Reply by DURIANRIDER on April 20, 2012 at 2:35pm We just got a 830$ order. The Halawi's and medjools were the best. Super fresh and gooey.
I have been so taunted by the gooey-ness in the video... ahhh how evil! bahahahahaha!
Permalink Reply by Juliana on April 24, 2012 at 10:50am oh and in the summer time I can hook anyone who is interested with the best peaches and apricots. Our family friend has some trees and all the fruit is spray free. The peaches, I don't know why, can be as big as a fist... or two!
and if anyone is interested in some hachiya persimmons I can also get some right now. they're small and take forever to ripen, but they're worth it in the end =)
Permalink Reply by Lucia on April 26, 2012 at 2:11pm That sounds great, I'd love to see their trees and if I have to pay for the fruit that's totally cool :)
Yumm, hachiyas are my favourite variety <3
Can't wait to see you at the raw picnic! Yayy!
