What greens do people put in green smoothies? I have a normal blender and it chops up spinach pretty well, I'm not that fond of lettuce in a smoothie so wondered what others use. I've tried Kale but I can only get those bags from the supermarket where I am and they're too tough for the blender to blend nicely - a bit like trying to eat a brillo pad, rocket is too strong for me in a smoothie.
I've just got an allotment so hope to be able to grow and pick lots of different baby greens but was looking for ideas for greens in smoothies now plus good ideas of what to plant.
Thanks

Sorrel is great if you can get some, it's got a bitter lemony taste to it.
I buy a mixed bag of 'oriental leafy salad' each week from Able and Cole, which is great for an interesting variety of tasty greens, it includes...
mizuna, red mustard, green in snow, red frills, claytonia, rocket, pak choi, spinach, coriander, mustard pizzo, raddichio, land cress, water cress, Greek cress, and komatsuna.
There's a great page on alternative edible leaves at Plants for a Future's website here... http://www.pfaf.org/user/cmspage.aspx?pageid=37
They've other interesting articles too if you're starting to grow your own.
Good luck. :)
