So, I bought some banana's from Lidl (not Organic) but what looked good quality. I used the box they came in to carry some other stuff too. After putting everything away I looked at the box for place of origin. Costa Rica, nice, fruits there I believe are okay!! Then I noticed date of delivery, 26/5/11 - june 11. One month ago. What!! Looks like they went to Northern Ireland first, then to UK. How can they stay so fresh looking and un ripe when they are a month old already!! Is this standard for all banana's exported in?
