30 Bananas a Day!

Bama has started a project they call "jobfruit", which is basically that they make fruit baskets that diferent companies can buy for their employers. here´s the link: http://jobbfrukt.no/ (it´s written in norwegian). Upping the fruit intake of norwegians, yey:)

Does anyone know where I can buy bulks of fruit (cheaper than in the stores)? hmm... where does the stores get their fruit?

some other sites where companies can get fruit for their employers:

I buy my fruit directly from a wholesaler called Økern Engros. There's a bunch of others located at the same address, here's a list: http://www.torvhallen.no/page/6132/

If you're far from Oslo, I can't help you, but I'm sure there's something similar to be found.

They don't sell to the public, so I registered a company (enkeltpersonforetak) to be able to buy from them. I think this is the form you need to fill out: https://www.altinn.no/no/Skjema-og-tjenester/Etater/Bronnoysundregi...

It's cheaper than most stores, but not by a lot. I think First Price bananas/ Rema 1000's Bare Bananer might be just as cheap or possibly cheaper than the ones I'm getting now, but they are hard to get by the case.

It's a much better shopping experience though. I drive down there about once a week and fill the car with cases of fruit. Easy!

thank you. at the moment I´m pretty far away from oslo (I´m actuallt living just outside of brønnøysund.), but planing on moving to bergen or oslo, so I will definetly check it out.

I live in Bergen and I usually buy my fruit from either Coop (ideally) or Kiwi. Coop have reduced their prices on organic produce so they match conventional ones, which makes me really happy :)

Having a company is a good idea, it does not cost anything to register!

Another option if you are a regular client somewhere is to ask for discount. It is not necessary a big discount but it helps on the way. Small ethnic shops would make deals if you say you buy the whole case. For organic food is not so much available for that though I guess, it would also be possible to ask for discount there too. You could rapidly be the largest client and small organic shops need some turnover.

Make friend with shop owners. They do business and might be interested in placing orders for you so you can get whatever you want from their wholesaler. Try also to join others to order in groups.
