30 Bananas a Day!

So for those who have contacted saying that they want to be involved in this too... as Franga has suggested, write your daily intake, concerns, needs etc here...

I look forward to hearing from you and grateful for the longer termers who have offered their support.

Thanks for starting this Safi! Awsum idea ;)

I'm super new to this, and I still haven't been able to give up things like rice, quinoa and potatoes, but hopefully as things progress I will get stronger and see the benefits more and more. I always appreciate motivation and support, I don't know ANYONE (in real life) living this way and everyone around me is seriously concerned for my health, even my local organic fruit lady!! Sometimes I question it myself...so I love coming on here and getting motivated by all you amazing peeps out there....

What's all your stories and how/what do you eat???? Would love to hear some cool success stories ;)

Ok, so yesterday was a bit of a disaster. Feel pretty crap this morning which is just as well! Glad to have the negative reinforcement. I'd had some potentially pretty devastating news regarding a dear friend and her children and I fell back on old patterns. Feel crap, eat crap. Even though I had dates, mandarins and celery in the car somehow they just didnt seem to be the right shape to fill the hole...because the hole wasnt hunger. Though I am left with the question this morning as to how it actually might have changed things if I had eaten what was in my car instead of the potato cakes I went and bought.

So, with 3 boxes of bananas in various stages of ripening and contemplating purchasing a fourth today (am finding they are taking AGES to ripen in the cold weather) I have decided to post on here the next week or so to add some accountability to what I am doing. Doesnt really worry me if no one else reads it or responds but if there are others out there who need the same support at the moment would be cool to have some company.

Also I am on a pseudobreak from uni - one more exam to go but it is not for another 9 days so I havent even bothered starting to study for that one yet. Then another almost 4 weeks off. Gives me the opportunity to get some exercise happening. Will be easier to structure my eating and exercise patterns.

So I am committing to posting each evening about my day for the next two weeks.

See you later.

So I have had a good day and I found the knowledge that I committed to documenting my day on here really helpful.

Food for the day - 10 banana 'porridge' (6 mashed, 4 smoothied), 12 mandarines, 12 medjool, 8 stalks of celery, 6 banana smoothie, 6 brazil nuts. Approx 3570 calories Water approx 3L. Exercise - walking from Botanic gardens to Mind Body Spirit festival and back - 11:30am till 3:30pm.

Realising that food for me has been probably more about entertainment than nourishment in the past.

Another day! Cruisey. Slept in. Walked 4km.

food - 18 bananas (3 x 6 banana smoothies), 6 mandarins, 6 medjool dates, 300g baked potato, 200g baked sweet potato, 1/2 cup peas, 1/2 cup corns, 150g zucchini, 5 walnuts. 3600 cal. water 3L.

Got really annoyed when buying mandarins and finding they were NOT ripe. Still have green on their skins. Grrrrr. Have always been able to rely on them to be ripe before. Just hope this is not the start of the slippery slope to more sub standard fruit.

Still finding it helpful to be documenting my day so will continue!

Today - not as much exercise as i would have liked. Walked 2km. Housework. Also sadly could not be in the sunshine today - been a while since we have seen it!

Food - 10 banana smoothie, 10 mandarin, 10 medjool dates, 250g baked potato, 250g baked sweet potato, 5 stalks of celery, 7 walnuts. 2900 cal  88/7/5
Have learnt the valuable lesson to have plenty of bananas on hand in various stages of ripeness. Makes life sooo much easier.

No study today and only needed to do a few hours work so enjoyed an 8km walk today :)

Food for today - 14 bananas, 8 mandarins, raw vegan hand rolls (cauliflower, dates, carrot, cucumber, seaweed), 250g baked potato, 250g baked sweet potato. 2956 cal. (92/3/5)

Am still feeling an emotional attachment to baked potato/sweet potato....but that is soooo much better than hot fried salty chips! Actually really enjoy bare naked baked potato rounds with nothing on them.

feeling like I am back on track. Not craving junk in the same way or salt.

Today 3550 cal - 11 banana porridge, 7 banana smoothie, 40 roasted chestnuts, 6 banana smoothie, 2 stalks celery.

Walked 6km.
