I'm not a Facebook user. But you can PM me. Or maybe we should start a thread on this forum? Not sure if in this group because it would be better to address more people.

Anyone else in this group interested in meeting other LFRVs in Brazil near Rio de Janeiro?

I don't know of other people but we could send the word out and see if anyone else is interested. Maybe we should take this conversation to e-mail or facebook...I am on there as vibrant victoria.

If it wasn't winter/high season I could organize something for more people in a nice remote, seaside or rain forest location. But high season is just too expensive to rent.

What I can offer in high season is a nice house with yoga deck and loads of hammocks but located at the entrance to a small town, hence not very remote. I can accommodate 6-8 people in 2 bedrooms and probably 100 on the yoga deck and veranda :) Do you know any other people who would like to come? We could organize a bigger event.

sharing meals is by far the best reason that I travel to visit friends in warm climates in the winter. There is the fact that I can't stand the cold as well, but really it's about connecting with other fruit and veggie lovers :)

If Brazil, then TAM.com.br should have best ongoing prices. I remember that from NY to Rio return it is something close to $800. But others may have some special offers.

I haven't been to Hawaii or Thailand so can't say if hte weather is better there or here. For sure it rains a lot here and it is also very hot and humid.

I'm not running the adventure retreat in high season (Dec-Feb) hence can not promise accommodation for you. I may be somewhere else at that time. But if I'm here you can stay with me. It would be great to be able to share a meal, other than a salad, with someone :)

Fruitman,

I haven't officially decided where I am going this coming winter and yes it would be the winter here. Probably in January. I might also go back to Hawaii again, or Thailand. I am just feeling out what options are available. It all depends on the cost and where I have friends. I prefer to stay with friends whenever possible to cut back on expenses. I stayed with Janie Gardener for a month when I went to Hawaii last winter and just payed her instead of a hotel. It was a great time! Anyway, I will let you know what I decide.

Hi Victoria,

Which winter do you refer to? Because at this side of the globe we just started autumn. So do you want to come June-August? If you are thinking about your winter I would recommend not to camp. Unless you like water camping :) Summers (your winters) are VERY wet here. Not a pleasant environment to camp.
Also the high season starts December and ends in March and is more expensive and more crowded. Flights are more expensive as well. The best in terms of weather and cheapest time to visit Brazil is April-November.

Let me know when you confirm your flights. I'm sure I can arrange some cheap accommodation for you.
