Home school all the way!

There are forms that can be filled out that says it is against your religious views to have your child vaccinated.  I think the only one they still require is a TB test.  Other than that you are free and clear.  We home-school.  it really does not take so much time.  We have a cooperative where the parents share responsibilities.  We follow a more unschooling approach.  Follow his lead but still get the basics in.  When he is ready to learn something he will want to do it.  My son is also learning in every day life situations - helping around the house, check books, paying for things at the store, counting how much is in his piggy bank and what he needs to save in order to buy what he wants, planting and growing a lot of our own food, helping to build the house.  His Daddy teaches him archery and things like that.  It is actually fun to home-school.  :)

Also, colleges prefer to take home-schooled kids. They actually seek them out.  There are several ways to keep track of what is studied in order for the child to be college ready if they so choose.

Tris ~ thanks! :) :)  I think so too and he also has a very beautiful soul.

Frutas de Verde that sounds like a wonderul idea and very duable for me since I live in Sunny South Florida with many palm trees, beautiful sunsets and breezy warm afternoons. I am a tropical man, born in Havana Cuba and Islander true and true.

Hehe yeah the thought of children certainly lengthens the outlook. Personally it's the only thing that gets me thinking beyond the next 3-4 years lol. I love the idea of looking for a veg*n as a parental partner. Have many veg/non-veg married friends, and to live life not needing to work around that in the home (especially x1,000 when the idea of raising kids comes in), as you said it's a lot more ease.

Your son is gorgeous by the way! I see very insightful eyes. :)

I wish I could find a raw vegan boyfriend and travel every tropical paradise and eat all the kinds of fruits, play around the beach ,watch the sunset, sleep under a tree while enjoying a warm afternoon breeze .hahahah!

Liam: yeah totally agree. Trying to get these arguments out of the group was the only reason I cared to get involved (fail), so I'll just leave it alone.

Rachel, you said if you had kids, you wouldn't want them vaccinated; that is understandable, but do you know if there are any schools in the US that do not require the kids to get vaccinated (and, if so, where are they and how does one find them)?  How would you get around that problem?  Home-schooling is obviously very time-consuming and difficult, basically a full-time job, and somewhat questionable in terms of how well it prepares the child for the real world or for getting accepted into college or getting a job.

Liam - I agree I would like it if they would take their argument elsewhere.

Tris - when thinking of a mate I find myself thinking way into the future - such as I want a mate that shares similar life style so that if children come along there is less arguing about how to raise them....which seems to be a big factor in relationships when children are involved.  For example I do not want to date a meat eater or someone who believes in vaccinating because I do not give my child meat and I will not vaccinate him.    There are a lot of other factors that come to mind but that is the first so I'll just stick to that for now.
