Some people in OA weigh and measure their food to control their calorie consumption. 30Bad encourages people to weigh and measure food to ensure that people are actually eating enough. I've never counted calories as a raw vegan, but I've been humbled to take suggestions and be open-minded. I know for sure there were days where I consumed a huge amount of fruit calories that I still reached for junk, partly addiction, force of habit, stress, etc.
Weighing and measuring sounds awfully complicated and hard and inconvenient and annoying. But I want to get better so bad, I'm willing to give it a try. I have a little scale; I'm going to replace the battery and start practicing. I'm sitting at the library right now as I don't currently have Internet access at home, which makes doing Cronometer difficult. Can I download it on my smart phone? The whole thing just sounds annoying- I'm struggling to be open-minded!
But I know I've been guilty of undercarbing and then overeating. It's really easy to fall into that trap. So, this will be an attempt at breaking the cycle.
What do you guys think about weighing and measuring? Just for the record, some people do in OA, some don't.

As to my program, I am following 80/10/10 and am on day 6 of 100 "boot camp". LOL I actually find it a very natural way of eating. No problems at all. I use Cron-o-meter and am spot on every day with my calories which right now I do 2200-2500 per day and am losing weight STILL. LOL I am not overweight anymore at all. Thanks to raw organic food. I do a lb of greens per day in my V6 juice (not subscribed by 811rv but I refuse to give it up! ) I do 2 quarts of a wonderful fruit smoothie, bananas for snack and building those up to a dozen per day minimum (now at 5), and having wonderful vegie evening meal. I am becoming a very credible and talented raw chef and Reboot Mentor in Boise Idaho. LOL I love sharing healthy meals. I call my self a raw SHEf. LOL

Permalink Reply by Dovima on June 4, 2012 at 8:18am Just telling on myself: I haven't started to weigh and measure food yet, but I really have been conscientous about maximizing my calorie intake. Like this morning I ate four bananas while drinking a green smoothie with four more bananas in it. That's pretty good! that's progress getting my body to accomodate more fruit. Yep, this part of it can really be challenging! Luckily for me, I really don't have anorexic tendencies! My prior problem with volume-eating has now become an asset!
Permalink Reply by John Jasper on June 4, 2012 at 8:35am You're right, that is good progress. My volume-eating is sort of half-good, half-bad as I will never have trouble eating enough but I find that after an hour of eating, I don't want to quit. I enjoy eating for eating's sake!
