Hi 30BADers,
I have been cruising around the WFF page and I want to go soooooo bad! The only thing I have reservations about is the price. I know I could make it work with the monthly payments, but when I add in the cost of flying from SLC to NYC its getting crazy expensive.
I guess I am just wondering: Is it worth it?? Have any of you guys been before? What were your experiences?
Thank you in advance for your time,
Celine

Permalink Reply by Kimberly Marie on April 23, 2012 at 5:17am i too cannot afford to go because of the price. being a full-time student living on my own, i can hardly afford this lifestyle as it is. my goal is to put a little money aside every year until i save up enough to go. i also ask my family to donate to the cause on my birthday and christmas and such. I'm sure that it's worth it to hear all the wonderful speakers and eat all that fruit. knowledge and health are truly priceless. hopefully within a couple of years i'll be able to go. it really makes me sad and frustrated but it's good for me to learn to have patience.
Permalink Reply by Celine on April 23, 2012 at 10:31am Youre right, knowledge and health are truly priceless. If there is a will there is a way. I'm buyin a ticket!
Permalink Reply by Rawbert on April 23, 2012 at 7:19am I was there last year, it was great!
I'm going this year too hope to see you there! :)
Permalink Reply by Celine on April 23, 2012 at 10:33am I really hope to make it! Will I need any extra cash once I am there, or is everything pretty much taken care of?
Permalink Reply by Cheryl on April 23, 2012 at 7:31am I can't afford to go this year. Next year I hope to. I'm glad though, that there is something on the east coast, and it's WAY cheaper than Health and Fitness week. I think the cost is pretty reasonable.
Permalink Reply by Celine on April 23, 2012 at 10:35am Yes, I agree the cost of the actual festival is very reasonable, it's just the flight across the country and any extra expenses that I'm starting to feel a little weary about..
Permalink Reply by PK on April 23, 2012 at 7:36am Well, keep in mind other benefits of being there. If you pay utilities on your current home, you will have minimal utilities to pay.
Correct me if I am wrong as I have not attended, but I believe your fruit is included in your price. You have to buy food for yourself whether you stay or go.
Other possible benefits are forging lifetime friendships with life time people who may make good partners in future earth friendly endeavors.
Peace, PK
Permalink Reply by Celine on April 23, 2012 at 10:37am All valid points! Thank you PK! **** it, I'm gunna make this happen! Are you planning on attending this year?
Permalink Reply by DURIANRIDER on April 23, 2012 at 8:37am Save costs and ride your bike there like DTM did last year from LA. A few student friends of mine are coming from Australia. Australians see how cheap it is in the US and we are like 'wow! there is nothing like that here in Australia and there will never be so if we want it, we have to travel for it..'.
I remember living on welfare but still hustling up the funds to go to H&F week in 2006. I cashed in my super annuation funds. I was literally had no fixed adress but I a bike and a bivvy bag. I just wanted to go and learn so did whatever it took. Get a credit card and max it out. You don't have to pay it back. NOBODY got put in jail cos they couldn't pay a personal credit debt in the US.
I can't see it being on again next year. Mike lost around 80k last year and I can't see him breaking even this year cos its still WAY too cheap for what he is offering and spending on venue, speakers, fruit, insurance etc.
Anyone not coming this year is simply missing out on the biggest festival of its kind EVER.
Look how much it costs to go to the Tree of Life in Arizona and learn how to NOT do raw foods properly lol! You can spend 20 000$ to learn why organic bananas are 'toxic' yet Gabriel Cousens gave someone a Bovine Adrenaline shot there once and they died.
Just say'n.

Haha! Thank you DR for the worst advice ever!...but I get your point.
I'm filling out my application now!!
