30 Bananas a Day!

I used to happily eat tons of salad but I would put olive oil, lemon, garlic, salt and pepper on them . Now when I eat a salad without the dressing it is just bleck! I can barely eat it. I've tried a few raw dressings like mango and tomato, tahini and lemon, corn and tomato, avocado, tomato, and cilantro... but nothing seems to satisfy. I know I need the greens...so my question is: Does it get better? Will my taste buds come to enjoy such a plain salad?

Sounds good. I have all the ingredients too :)

I did it...and it IS good :)

It's still difficult to eat the whole salad. That plate is actually a large oval serving plate (you just can't tell in the photo).

I find that it's a matter of finding not only the right type of green, but also the right brand and quality.  I've been trying to get into greens for several years, and it was never natural or very enjoyable for me to eat large quantities.  Been trying all sorts of lettuces, spinach, celery, regular kale, and all sorts of stuff, and most of the time it's not something I look forward to. But sometimes you can find something that just happens to be really good quality and it tastes good to you.  Lately, for example, I found a store that carries PureVeg organic greens, and I've been literally craving their lacinato kale.  I've never craved greens before.  That particular type and brand just really jives with me right now, so that's the only green I'm eating right now, and eating plenty of it.  Everything else still seems unappealing to me.  I hope that you find something that jives with you too :)

Today I took a bite of dandelion greens and they were actually pretty good...until I swallowed them...the las bit was mighty bitter.

That's great that you have found something you like! Hopefully I will too :)

I had the same problem. Just try eating lettuce on its own, I found it much more manageable than trying to make a 811 salad dressing taste like my old olive oil based dressings.  I also dropped the tomatoes and the other day just had lettuce, celery and carrot sticks - no problems, which really surprised me.

Make sure the veg is the best quality you can buy, makes a huge difference.

Some days I can eat greens plain and it tastes awesome. Other days it's gross to me. I think our cravings are based on the nutrients we need... though I have nothing to back up that statement with! :)
