Well, I have gained quite some weight on 811 and I've noticed that if I go even justr a few days without dates, my face immediately stops looking so bloated and when go a few days eating a lot of dates, I gain weight really fast... I've gotta admit that dates do cause me to have a little bit of inflammation, a bit like when I used to eat honey.
Anyone else noticed that they gain weight from dates?

I'm 100 % sure that dates will never cause weight gain, if you follow a 100 % Lowfat HCRV lifestyle.
However, it is possible that your body is adjusting to eating a better diet/more carbohydrate calories/calories i general.
In order to help you further, I need to have some more info:
- What do you eat during a typical day?
- How many calories are you eating per day?
- Do you know how many calories you used to eat before HCRV?
Permalink Reply by Alex on April 30, 2012 at 8:20pm Well... I don't eat all raw as I can't afford eating only fruit and vegetables... So I eat some cooked starches and try to eat as much fruit as possible. On a daily basis I eat about 3500 calories a day, which is what DR recommends for a person with my level of activity. I usually keep my fat intake below 5% of my total calories.
Before HCV, I ate about 3000 calories a day, that's just an estimate. (And I ate a lot more fat.)

Can you provide pictures as well?
This would help us evaluate more objectively.

Permalink Reply by Jasmine Marie Lynch on March 22, 2013 at 6:57pm good point!
Permalink Reply by Asher on April 30, 2012 at 8:35pm I eat a bare minimum of 500g of dates a day!
When I first got on this diet I lost weight, and when I upped the excersise I gained it.
It wouldn't be the dates, you would have to eat sooooooo many dates. In 1kg of dates, there is 0.05g of fat
Water retention? Cooked starches? Body adjustment?
Don't stress, feel good.
If you work out, dates are the best thing ever for recovery and muscle food.
Good luck!

Do dates make you fat? Well I don't know anyone that eats more dates as a couple than myself and Freelee. But Im sure anyone close to us is gonna look very similar to us.
Where is the excess weight? LMAO!
(both photos from a few days ago after a days smashing in the dates and bananas.)
Permalink Reply by DURIANRIDER on April 30, 2012 at 9:04pm If someone is getting fat on fruit, they are eating other things. Period.
Then you have the anorexics that are getting to a healthy weight but don't show pics of emselves and just say 'OMG!!!! WEIGHT GAIN!! CRYING A NEW COLORADO RIVER!!!'
lulz.
'JUST eating dates man! oh and lots of other stuff too.. but its GOTTA BE THE FRUIT MAN!!! SERIOUS!'
double lulz.
I remember this guy came in the bike shop with yet another broken cannondale xc frame. He PLEADED with us that he only used it for 'gentle rides with my kids at the bike path'. His mate later told us he jumps off shipping containers. When his new warranty frame was approved, we suggested he get the downhill model..
Permalink Reply by Jessica Debilas on April 30, 2012 at 10:19pm I've noticed they do for me, too. I actually have avoided the higher-cal fruits like that to maintain the wait I want. I eat fruit, but stay away from the dates especially. I feel best on watery fruit! And I have as much of that as I want :)
Permalink Reply by Jennelle LeMoine on May 1, 2012 at 1:58pm how many cals are u getting from those watery fruits? 2500 or more?
