30 Bananas a Day!

Why do I have to force myself with 2000 cals of fruit when I feel better on less?

Please don't yell at me for posting this, but I have read through numerous discussions on the importance of getting enough calories.  I understand that, however; I feel WORSE on more calories.  I feel sick when I try to eat anything near 2000 calories.  I absolutely believe that living 100% raw fruit and veg is the way to go, but I'm small so why do I have to eat alot?

I'm short and have a small frame so it doesn't take much to get me full.  Plus I am trying to lose weight/fat so why overeat? Stats: Currently 5'0, 125 lbs(I think - I stopped weighing myself - it kinda drove me nuts), and I'm 21.  I don't do much exercise because I never feel like I want to.  I do go to college with a giant campus so I walk everywhere.

I am not 100% yet because I seem to always give in when I go home and my mom has a home cooked meal made.  That is due to my own issues of relating my mom's dishes to positive memories and feelings in which I give in.  That's a whole separate issue I need to control.

Today I had three apples and an entire bag of grapes.  I don't plan on eating for the rest of the night.  I'm stuffed.  That's a good thing right?  Facts and what people say tell me that this is wrong and not enough, but my body is saying otherwise.  I'm SO confused!

I just started a HCRV diet and a few weeks ago eating more than 5 bananas was a marathon challenge. Human stomachs can stretch, and all it takes is practice and good eating to accommodate for
More room, meaning more food, meaning more calories.

I understand that eating 1000 calories in a sitting is challenging and also uncomfortable (this mornin I ate a mini watermelon and 7 bananas)  it's only uncormfortable for a few minutes, then I get an energy
BOost and feel great. It's way better than the feeling of 1000 calories of peanut butter or chips or a pot pie.

Try to eat more, you'll get used to the feeling.

Wow, you had a mini watermelon and 7 bananas?!  Good for you!  I'm pretty sure if I tried that my face would explode.  I agree that 1000 cals of fruit is way better than calories of peanut butter or chips.  My thing though is why do I even have to practice stretching my stomach to accommodate more food?  It feels fine the way it is...

If you don't get in enough nutrients, your body will start eating itself. True story. Also, check out Adam's response in this topic, it might give you some insights.

The bananas were pretty easy to gourge, but the watermelon was at the end, and it being the high water melon it took extra room to accommodate.

I don't know the exact science of this diet and stomach stretching, but it's not too hard to wrap your mind around. Sometimes if I don't eat enough, like only 5 bananas or 5 grapefruits (only 500 calories a breakfast), I'll be hungry an hour or less later. It's best to get 1000 calories a main meal (bf, lunch, dinner).
I understand completely where you're coming from. Before HCRV, I would eat 1200 calories or less a day, even WITH exercise, and be full. I know this diet is prObably impossible to get fat off of and understand that fruits are digested super fast.

If you want, maybe you can eat 500 calories and 5 meals a day? It's recommended that HCRV's get at least 2500 calories a day.

Andrew,

I'd switch the order there, watermelons first and than the nanas!

WM is best when consumed alone on an empty stomach.

haha i was going to say the exact same thing :)

Andrew,

Your replies are very sympathetic and kind.  Thank you for that.  I know that a lot of people here already have it figure it out so all this stuff is as simple as 1+1=2.  It is really nice to talk to someone who is understanding.  I will definitely take your advice and do smaller calorie meals more often throughout the day until I can stretch my stomach out a bit.

the idea is that you burn off a lot of calories in movement/exercise.  exercise is a vital part of the 8-1-1 lifestyle to be as healthy as you can be.

on the other hand, if your digestion is compromised, it might be tough to get that many (i can't seem to eat enough calories).  if this is the case, you shouldn't push it too hard with eating a lot.

be sure to exercise, it's hard to start a routine, but once you do you will see that it makes you feel good.  you will be hungrier and you will eat more (but you will lose your excess fat weight)

Ok so even if I have zero motivation to workout, I should just force myself to work out and eventually I will like it and in return eat more because I am hungrier?

Always make sure to exercise a few times a week. I run a bit over 4 miles in 26 minutes 6 times a week. It's best to get exercise in, just for health! You may not like exercise at
First, but it get ls into your health and mainstreamed into your daily thoughts and is wonderful for you.

You have zero motivation because you're undereating.

Up your cals and motivation will come.

aha, again i was going to say the same thing. twinsies? :D
