30 Bananas a Day!

Why do I bother to still be on other forums that keep banning me?

This thread is a bit of a distraction but if you've had your carbs, sleep, sun, fun and water for the day, feel free to have a bit of distraction reading..

"We  just celebrated our first week open on ning.com and I'd
like to thank each and every one of you for stopping by.

It is definitely growing into a community to enjoy and be
proud of.

The only damper has been a situation that some of you may be
aware of involving an ex member named Harley aka
DurianRider, a creator of 30bananasaday an 811 LFRV forum.

It has come to our attention over the last few days that
Harley (Durianrider) has been making numerous attempts,
through fake accounts, to enter this site after being asked
to leave and subsequently suspended for posting replies
against forum policy.

As some of you are aware, this site cannot be viewed without
membership and Harley seems to want to see what’s going on inside.
It has been made clear that those seeking his methods for
LFRV will be referred to 30bananasaday and are welcome to do
so, so we can only assume that he wishes to be here to keep
tabs on those who are members of both forums for personal
reasons.

He can use information gained here to pass judgment on his own
site and can ban members who are on both forums if desired.

Since it will create too much work for the admin to keep on
top of these fake accounts being created daily, we are
asking that the responsibility be handed to each individual
to decide whether they will allow themselves to be judged
or bullied in this manner if they belong to 30BAD as well.

As a pre-emptive measure, you can save any valuable posts
from 30bananas (if a member) and leave standard (non-ning
based) email information for those friends with whom you’d
like to remain in contact (but have no desire to join here)
just in case.

We apologize to any member who in the future is removed
because of something they say or believe in on LFRV, it was
never our intention to cause any stress to those
who just want to chat to receive daily support for their
lifestyle.

We also would never exclude a member who wants to be part of
this community for having an account on another ning forum
if they want to live and discuss a positive LFRV lifestyle here.

We will do everything we can to make sure the atmosphere
here is as open as it can be to allow people to be as open
as they need be about their diet and lifestyle.

All discussions about this and Harley in general will close
to focus on positive discussions that support well being of
all members on this site.

We apologize to anyone who receives this message and
is unaware of the situation and is unaffected by this
notice.

We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

Thank you,

Your Admin Team :)

Some peeps might say 'Harley, Why bother being on all those forums that ban you over and over?, you've got your own forum, concentrate on that..' And I agree somewhat but I do like to keep my finger on the pulse and be updated with the latest info in this raw circus. I do it so I can relate to people better and therefore reach them more effectively.  These days with proxy servers and IP accounts, you can be on any forum you want to. i deleted a stack of members today cos I didnt feel that they were happy here.  Giving myself and Freelee trash talk earns an instant Durianrider Sinbin luxury pass. The best thing you can do for someone that doesnt like the party is give them the permission to have a break if they cant decide emselves.

So yeah, thats the distraction for the evening folks. :)

Bottom line, we aint here to win the popularity contest, rather, we are here to see people THRIVE on this lifestyle. Anyone, anytime, anywhere. We are here for people who want to kick ass! regardless of their previous background or dietary choices.

bn,

ok so we have the book's name and the author has a phd for something (unclear what that is) and a certain number (unclear how many) of universities apparently use the book. these semi-facts do not address the validity of the contents.

here's the problem.

your claim is that:
humor is "an attempt to vent our hostility when physical aggression is not practical"
based on something you've read in some book that you want us to accept as correct, now presumably because some guy has a phd.

to accept an idea because it comes from a phd is the typical appeal to authority (argumentum ad verecundiam or ipse dixit). if you are merely saying that some phd said this and it may be true (though not because a phd said it), then that's ok, but it means we need to evaluate whether this is really true or not. as i explained earlier, you can't really establish the 'truth' of such things because they produce a statistical distribution at best which is rather pointless to apply as being correct in a specific situation. you can do no better suggest a probability and that is by no means a statement of correctness for the particular instance.

for instance, we had a delightful exchange on tires if you recall:
http://www.30bananasaday.com/xn/detail/2684079:Comment:514927
obviously there was considerable humor there. if you apply the notion you put forth above, it can be concluded that our joviality was some form of latent hostility and that both you and i ought to consider going for some serious therapy! :D

hmmm ... on the other hand, i suppose puns are intended to punish! :D
ooops, this might be construed as hostility!

so unless you can provide that portfolio which demonstrates hostility practised via humor in the specific case you are hinting at, it has no validity whatsoever.

more seriously though, it is an inappropriate and not very kind insinuation to make towards a very generous and good-willed host, whose forum we are both guests of.

in friendship,
prad
I wonder if there are very many peeps on the carcass eating forums that don't eat any fresh raw produce at all ?
zero carb lifestyle

zero carb diet rules:

1) Eat only from the animal world (eggs, fish, redmeat and fowl and some dairy are all animal sourced foods, i.e.: meat).

2) Eat nothing from the vegetable world whatsoever. (Very small amounts of flavourings such as garlic/chillies/spices/herbs which may be added, are not ‘food’).
i thought this was a joke, B.
i see it is not!

so i think i'll just tell a joke that bigG sent me. it relates well to the zero carbers who steal the work as well as the lives of other sentient beings for their own greedy gratifications:

How many narcissists does it take to change a light bulb? One. He holds the bulb while the world revolves around him.

nice joke. :)

my favorite is rule #5:
5) Eat liver and brains only very infrequently- they are full of carbs.

I love how the significance of brains being full of carbs completely eludes the zero carb practitioner.
hahahahahahaha...it's hard to think through the high-fat haze!

Is this brain-washing? or the opposite??
Hey Pradf, good joke! :)

and more along that vein..

How many Psychologists does it take to change a lightbulb?

One.

But the lightbulb has got to want to change...

x :)
I actually listened to him on public radio speak about his carnivorous diet, he actually believes that carbs cause cancer and has been eating/drinking FLESH SMOOTHIES since the sixties. Now remember this man is one of the founding fathers of LSD, I can only imagine the mind trips he has been on. He described how he eats the whole animal, he eats the flesh, entrails, stomach. WOW
Look up Owsley on wiki, and I said one of.
I definitely do not agree with his dietary preferences, I was just relating what he was describing on public radio, sorry I was so graphic.
Flesh smoothies? VOMIT!
I don't really get what's going on over there to be honest. There seems to be a lot of bitching and complaining about this site which I don't really understand because personally I've never used a forum before with such intellegent, friendly and compassionate people as this forum. I find DR and Freelee to be both educational and entertaining as well as warm-hearted whenever I have read their posts and blogs.
Bellas site has also started well I think except for this little episode. That too will be a good community once all these sour grapes (pun intended!) have passed and everybody can concentrate on more interesting topics.
