I prefer what I have over drinking tap water; other than the endless fluoride and chlorine in it, it tastes just horrible.

People will believe anything if it sounds good. :)

Permalink Reply by Justin Lovenow on May 4, 2012 at 6:54am Is there any solid scientific research on how distilled water affects body and whether it is healthy or not to drink it.
I think it is important question to answer as it seems people here are drinking loads of water both day and night.
Permalink Reply by apple@li on May 4, 2012 at 11:44am How easy would that be if all we had to do was drink distilled water to lose weight/fat.. lol my family has been drinking it for years, my mom is on the heavier side, and my dad is average and my sis fluctuates a lot, and I am just i dunno, in the middle? hahaha We have a distiller so we skip the plastic containers and it goes straight in our glass mason jars ;)
But I have heard the leaching warnings. so if you want to you can add a lemon, a berry, piece or celery? :) That's what I do sometimes! I remember binging and then hoping the distilled water would flush out all the garbage I had just consumed, what a silly thought, right!?!? It is like boiling water, isn't it? Isn't that what they used to do with contaminated or dirty water anyway??? And all the grime sinks to the bottom...I'm not very smart so don't take my word for it.
I'm just enjoying my distilled water over our salty~tasting~hard~well~water. No problems sooooo far, and my blood test neva show me lacking any vitamins or nutrients.... probably cause I eat soooo much! :) Only lacking intestinal flora... could it be the water?
Permalink Reply by Kimber on May 4, 2012 at 11:51am Is this in the 80-10-10 book? Does anyone have the page number? I wanted to read what he has to say about it. I don't think I've come across that part yet.
Thanks :o)
Permalink Reply by Amelia on May 4, 2012 at 12:34pm Here is my personal experience: In my 20s, I felt like an old arthritic person. If I sat too long in one position, or slept on the floor, I would moan and groan and ache when I stood up. Then 20+ years ago, I read "Fit for Life II" and switched to distilled water. The "arthritis" disappeared. Over the next few decades, my diet got better, then worse, then better -- you get the picture. The one constant in my life has been distilled water. I have never reverted to the old aches and pains I had as a twenty-something.
Someone once said to me, "Eww. You drink distilled water? That's what they put in irons!" (For you young'uns, an iron is a hot, metal appliance used to get wrinkles out of clothing.) My answer was, "Duh. If it's so pure it won't make metal rust, it's pure enough for me."
Anyway, no stats, no reasoning, just plain experience. I highly recommend it.
Permalink Reply by KKG on May 5, 2012 at 6:16am I just started drinking distilled water last week not expecting much and being scared of it leaching nutrients. But I can honestly say I feel more hydrated. This is not in my head as I was skeptical of the distilled water in the first place. Now, I think it's great!
Permalink Reply by Kevin Hand on May 5, 2012 at 6:23am Hi there is a lot of confusion out about the benefits of water filters but what Peter suggests is correct, a water distiller is the best but it really depending on what you trying to do. You should consider pH - acid /alkaline balance. Distillation removes the good the bad and the ulgy from the water in simple terms. Thus making it slightly less alkaline and more to neutral which is about 6.9 -7.1 depending on your water supply.
However, it is important to note the body loves water which has a pH of above 8 for drinking water, but over here tap and most bottled water has pH of 7.1 -7.4 depending on local factors. Furthermore, human blood has a pH of about 7.4-7.45 thereabouts.
Distilling water removes everything, and is devoid of all minerals, Volitile Organic Compounds (VOC's) are then removed using a charcoal filter (post distillation), salts and essentially oxygen so we could say it is dead water but pure water. All contamination has been removed at this point.
But this is only half of issue, ideally you should then aim to re-energise the water and increase the pH also. This can be done in a number of ways using a water vitaliser which puts essential minerals back in, creating a vortex in the water to to form hexangonal structured water similar to water from a water fall, which is the purest form you can get similar to a snow drop formation. Have read of this link http://vitalizerplus.net/vitalizer-plus/ I have this at home and I swear by it. Incidentally, it also oxygenates the water and increases the pH to about 7.8 after a 27 minute cycle. although these units are expensive but well worth the spend. Then you can just bottle it and take it with you.
But there is are cheaper ways; using green french clay - take your distilled water 1 -2 litres and add teaspoon full to the water and leave to settle 1-2 days pour off leaving clay behind. This also increases pH a little bit but it gives puts minerals back in the water. DO NOT DRINK THE CLAY!
Next you can add fresh lemon juice which increases the pH further towards pH 8.
But you miss out on the oxygenation process this way. However, you can bubble ozone through the water to oxygenate it, and I have since people make their own vortex using a plastic bottles, and electric plate with a jug with magnetic in the jug to create a vortex.
My regime is: 1. Distill tap water 2. decant water into jugs and add clay leave for at 24 hours 3. decant water into clean jugs and add lemon juice 4. pour into vitaliser and put on 27 minute 4. Enjoy
If you want info just ask, but read the website and get informed...
Remmeber, water + food + oxygen = LIFE
ionisation - well my humble opinion is you have to leave water in the chamber for at least 3 days to get any effect.
I did all my testing with lab standard pH meter and using the correct buffer solutions in order to satisfy myself it was not all BS.
Good luck
Kevin
