I'm just curios because I sure haven't. Even chowing down on 3000-4000 calories a day and working out like an animal hasn't produced any weight loss. Although the benefit of high carbs is pretty noticeable when it comes to exercise.
i've been reading some stuff about insulin sensitivity in some people. These people tend to carry their fat around as love handles. That would be me. Apparently these types of a people are a smaller percentage of the human population and do better on lower carb diets.
I'm just trying to figure out an approach as to how to rid of all this damn fat. I have my diet down, i exercise. Anybody else have this problem?
I have the same problem, I have gained weight (8 kgs) after almost a year doing this diet. I'm not happy about it.
Having diabetes type 1, as soon as I get my longterm bloodsugar stable, I gain weight.
e money, how long have you been eating HCRV 100% for?what kind of food did you eat before, did you calorie restrict?did you have or do you still have, health problems?
Many things to think about? Are you a person that is stressed alot?Do you sleep well and how many hours sleep a night, not sleeping well nor going to bed early enough and getting enough sleep can make a person hold fat/weight?
I've been doing it for about a year. Was 100% for about 6 months straight. Messed around with normal people food after a while (cooked, not crappy food) of and on, went 100% again for a few months did normal people food again no i'm transitioning all over again. When i say normal people food i mean cooked stuff, i didn't eat junk food or anything like that with the exception of last month for the first time in like 6 years i had some cake, chocolate covered strawberries, some meat, more pastries e.t.c. Man was it delicious. Before HCRV (when did that name change come about) I was 100% raw and malnourished like all of them are. Yes i calorie restricted unknowingly. I didn't know about calories and how much one should be eating. No health problems that i know of.
I don't stress much. I get about 8 hours of sleep. The problem is i'll sleep around 12-2am and i know thats a problem. How early should i be going to bed?
Yes i calorie restricted unknowingly.
There is your answer. Were you calorie restricting while trying to follow 811 for 6 months straight or before that or both and for how long? Have you read Adrienne's thread? Acceptance of fat gain and being a stronger person She came from a calorie restricting background and it took her awhile of gaining weight before she started losing weight but she felt so good that she decided to just focus on her health and how she was gaining energy and mental clarity and clear skin, etc. etc.
Really you are doing great, so many details to learn, just keep trying, it gets better and better!
the high carb raw VEGAN name came about via a recent thread and some people started using it, we still know what lfrv means though ;)
All the best! :)
Hi e money, am not exactly doubting your truthfulness, but enjoying stuff like meat, pastry etc vanished for me in a matter of 2 months max. Of course being carbed-up before being confronted with this kind of food is ideal; after 6mths Iwouldn't be strong enough to resist if I became pretty hungry. But I know from early deviations, nausea and lethargy would follow.
HCRV started in Freelea's audio, I think.
I have not lost weight or fat either, still hoping! I eat about 3K, sleep plenty, love my workouts, only wish I could do more, but it don't make dollas!
E Money,HCRV came about from Free and Harley at Frees talk in Adelaide. It gives more of the idea that it's about abundance not restriction ,that low fat raw vegan can give, you know what i mean? They are trying to break the restrictive cycle of thinking and eating that so many of us have come from.
Sounds like you just need to stick with this way of living,HCRV,and stay consistent, then your body can heal, repair and rejuvenate itself,THEN the excess weight will come off,it's not always the first thing to go for everybody.Chopping and changing from one way of eating to the next, especially from raw to cooked(no matter how unjunk foodie it is lol),just messes with your health, body, weight loss journey and mind.
I would be aiming for at least 9pm bedtime,it will take time to adjust,so what i did,was every few days go to bed 1 hour earlier than usual, til i got use to it.I had a few nights of laying awake for awhile til i dropped off to sleep, now my body looks to go to bed at 9pm.
Ha ha! You go to bed that LATE and think 'maybe healthy eating isnt right for me?' LMAO!
Seriously, if you want the MONEY when it comes to health and fitness and building a lean strong body for LIFE, then get to bed at 8-9pm. Sure you can try and 'cheat' yourself but thats all you will be doing. ;)
I work out pretty intensely. Supposedly that helps with fat burning. I don't have a physical job.
I haven't lost any inches.
The only measurements i pay attention to are how my pants fit. All other measurements i stay away from. Especially the scale, that thing is the devil. I'm going to pick up some fat calipers though, at least that type of feed back would be good to see if i'm building muscle.
I've had love handles all my life, its one of those stupid family traits i want to get rid of. I think i was born with them and don't remember not having them. Even when i was cracked out skinny as hell i still had them.
Fat location also depends on what age you are.
Women who have passed the menopause will relocate fat to their middle due to the natural lack of estrogen in the raw diet.
They may also retain or gain a small amount there to hold hormones no longer produced.
