30 Bananas a Day!

I have been on 811 since May. I am now having to adjust the diet because the high fruit is too stimulating for my brain and nervous system, but I am staying lfrv. So I am eating more veggies and very small amounts of fruit, early in the day. What veggies are best? I hear pros and cons about tubers also. Any ideas? I hope to increase fruit as I can, but right now it is like MSG for me and because of slow digestion, it was also fermenting in my gut, and causing lots of swelling, weight gain, inflammation and nervousness. I am feeling much better on mostly veggies, but wondering if others know good ways to make use of veggies in their diet. Thanks for your help!

I'm a big fan of lettuce, I'll grab any sort of lettuce that I can find and eat it just as it is or make a salad of it. If you dislike the taste of them you can always mix them into one of your smoothies, no matter what quantity you put in there the taste of the fruit almost always seem dominate.

I've found that I really enjoy eating something sweet along with more bitter foods such as greens (optimally, they shouldn't be bitter though, but some are). It's like the bitter and the sweet compliment eachother in a way: if you find the sweet fruit that you are having to be too sweet, add in some lettuce; and if you find your lettuce to bitter, eat it with some sweet fruit. I also enjoy eating my greens with for example non-sweet fruits (tomatoes, cucumber, zucchini), salsas, guacamole and other dips.

I wouldn't recommend you to eat tubers as they are all high in starch amongst other things.
Thanks Yes I guess I'm wondering about tubers. I have often eaten raw yams and sweet potatotes, as well as carrots, sunchokes. I like all greens, and non sweet fruits work fine, although tomatoes sometimes yes and no. It's the sweet fruit that isn't working right now. I have my book out on loan. What is the issue with tubers? Why is the starch content a problem?
Try eating a meal of just raw carrots, potatoes etc; personally, I don't feel good after doing that. For me, that is all that matters. From the more scientific point of view I guess starchy foods are less preferable because they actually demand energy to digest, i.e making you tired after meals.
Thanks, that helps. I actually feel great on a mono meal of carrots or sweet potatoes. I especially need the vitamin A apparently, and I feel satisfied afterwards. That is basically what I have been going on - how the foods feel to me more than anything else.
Vitamin A wont be a problem for you if you eat a lot of fruits and greens.

And if you are really sure that you feel good (or preferably better) by eating tubers, then I don't see why you shouldn't. I wouldn't recommend it though.
