Hi guys!
One week ago, I feel off the wagon big time... Even though I kept it relatively low fat, I've been eating cooked vegan foods like seitan and tempeh and various other tasty-but-bad-for-you concoctions... And trust me, I'm now feeling the consequences!!
Yesterday, I began feeling a little iffy. It started with a slight headache and some sluggishness. Then I began to feel like I had a fever or something. I usually refuse to accept that I can get sick, so instead of listening to my body and getting some well needed rest, I kept going as usual. A lot f stress is certainly NOT the way to treat a body that is not doing too good...
Because of this, I'm now at home with a really high fever, a runny nose and a pounding headache. I feel worse than I have ever felt in a long, long time. So I decided enough is enough. Today, at least, I'm going to take care of my body. I'm doing mono-meals on fruit throughout the day and am probably going for a salad tonight, keeping it pretty simple.
I was just wondering if you guys have some good ideas for me as to how I can quickly get better! I'm really not the kind of person that has the patience to lie still and relax for a long period of time...

If you have an appetite, eat something light and juicy like orange juice, watermelon, or mango. If you're not hungry, don't eat! Your body is busy doing other things right now, and there's no use forcing food down your poor sore throat.
Last week my husband and I got sick at the same time with high fever, headache, and general aches. Some kind of Cambodian bug, probably from drinking ice in our sugar cane juice. We spent the entire day sleeping - I think we were awake for all of 7 hours in a 36 hour period. When we woke up, we drank water and once I stumbled out of our hotel for a few liters of sugar juice (no ice this time!!). The next day we woke up chipper and ready to go sightseeing.
When you are sick is one of those few times when not eating can be helpful, but again listen to your body - if you're hungry then eat. If you're not hungry, then sleep and drink water.
Feel better :)
