....other than "eat meat and dairy" ! haha, I'm pretty sure that we've all been told this at one point or another
I went to the doctors office yesterday to have my b12 levels checked out, and I brought Sally Pacholoks book "could it be b12?' so that I'd be able to show her the different symptoms and tests that I feel I need in order to rule out various deficiencies etc.
I ran into the common difficulties at the doctors, who generally are overly reluctant about taking samples and tests without you being sick or having fatal symptoms already. we ended up arguing for forever about whether it was best to prevent or treat illnesses, and she kept saying things like
'one of our jobs as doctors are also to keep check of the money register. its too expensive to test people that are not sick'
'if you have weird habits, thats fine I will not argue that, but then it is your own responsibility to make sure that you are getting all of the nutrients that you need', we can't test you for these things every time you find it convenient" !!
What the fruit ?! I'm showing the signs of a responsible human being by actually preempting sicknesses and whatnot, and she's telling me the opposite !! how else am I supposed to make sure that Im actually absorbing these nutrients ? (it's my first bloodiest as a hcrv)
what are the things that YOU have been told, and what kind of come backs did you bring to the table (or wish that you would've said) ?
Good morning Sannahavanna, I didn't need to get "back in touch" because I was born pretty open. It caused a lot of consternation with my family/parents. LOL LOL I have been criticized, ostracized, judged, rebuked all my life and learned to keep quiet for the most part. Then I went through many years of not trusting my own feelings with dire consequences. Now I know that what I "feel" is good as gold. I take my feelings above all else.
fascinating ! have you ever been able to feel that something was off, without it being visible/tangible for others?
If you mean do I "know" another's health issues by looking at them? Yes. Part of what I do with my clients in my mentoring business. It has been a great blessing when it comes to issues of cancer when I can alay fears of their loved ones by letting them know in the best way possible that it is not malignant, etc.
Im in awe. do you believe that every human being has this connection to themselves, and that we are just ignoring it because we're told to ? ...how are we told to go against our nature? by diet you mean?
Yes, everyone. When we "know" we are looked at as though we are crazy. Until that is our "knowing" has been proven correct.
Women in this society are still treated as though they are mindless twits. That they are to follow and keep quiet. I do neither. LOL
Nothing. I haven't been to one in years :) Thank you Lord.
I wanted to join Weight Watchers but needed a doctors note since I was under 18, and he looked at me, said I was a healthy weight and didn't need to lose much more. Weighed me and said the same. I was 185lbs then.. at age 15, female. Not very muscley. It was all fat. COME ONN!! Btw WW is BS and nothing more than calorie restriction. I did lose 10 lbs, but gained it back after quitting.
Lauren that is simply idiotic! So glad you ended up coming here where you can get some sanity into food again.
I was also at WW. Slow results and a lot of BS.
my gastreotologist person doctor said "DON'T EAT BANANAS THEY ARE BACKING YOU UP.NO WONDER YOUR HAVING PROBLEMS" after i told her i eat two bananas a day (this was a while ago) now its taboo in my household to see me eating a banana it really sucks.
