I love road biking. I like to do a 100+ miles on Saturdays. If I'm lucky I'll get to do the same on Sunday too. I have a 200 mile ride at the end of May. It will be my first double century!
I'm trying to figure out my fuel for the rides. My time off the bike is minimal. My longest ride time is 18 hours. I need to refuel on the bike. Any suggestions?

I would try raison's and water or dates and water but test it out way before your event so you can get the right combinations.
Otherwise you could be in trouble.

I rode 90mi this Sat on 50 dates and 20 oz celery juice (and an emergency Gu). The dates end up melting into a giant clump in my back jersey pocket. I just reach in a big zip lock bag and pull out a wad and then chew into like a giant sticky apple. It blew my mind how good I felt. I was absolutely ripping the pedals off the crank. All my riding buddies noticed and genuflected in front of my "date ball."
I started to cramp at mile 70, so figure I need to better manage the electrolytes. Not sure I like that much celery juice, but when I need it, it tastes like rapture.
If you find something better than "date ball", I'd LOVE to know. And if you find a way to make date ball not make you look like a hunchback, that would be helpful too.
Good luck!
Chris
