I am curious about this as well. DR, Freelee, and all the long term people say that you can't get fat on fruit. But I don't really understand what would happend if I ate 10,000 or 20,000 calories each day from dates and didn't exercise. Wouldn't I gain fat, not just water weight, from the excess calories. Doesn't your body store the sugar as fat when a person consumes calories over their body's needs. It confuses me that the 80 10 10 book has different calorie recommendations and views about consuming too many calories as opposed to what DR and Freelee teach. If someone could explain this question with some nutrition science it would be very much appreciated.

I doubt of the existence of such people. I think what would probably happen is one of two things:
1. You would be so energetic it would be impossible to stay put and you would be compelled to move your body and burn those callories.
2. You would feel massive stomach/intestinal pains which would make it impossible to eat more.
+1 FandN I think stomach pain would kick in before the energy and or need for scientific studies telling one it is time to stop.
I dare you to try to eat 10,000 calories.

EXACTLY PK! Thank you! It is very laborious to eat 10,00 calories when you eat cooked and concentrated fats! It takes years of conditioning EVERY DAY to achieve this. To eat 10,000 calories from whole or even blended fruit is near impossible, and if attempted will cause gastric distress.
Like someone said before, and it was a great comment also, these discussions about calories and results one way or another should be discussed only when there are fundamental nutritional basics established, and all who make statement have at least experienced it!
When someone says that they eat "up to 5000 calories" or "have 5000 calorie days" that is not the same as eating 5000 calories every day for six months or a year! Certain athletes or those who train like athletes or even harder will vary their caloric intake with the cycle of physical exertion that they are in. We do not arbitrarily use calories, we know exactly how much we are getting and the macronutrient proportions, and so on. And the math is the easy part. Anyone can look up these proportions, get a scale, weight their fruit, and set up an experiment. The hard part is actually doing it. Long enough and frequently enough over and over in one's life to make the experiment valid.
Do not worry jessica. Based on your past blogs. Eating the normal 3000 cals is so hard for you.

There is no such a thing as 'consuming excess calories'. Quit the anorexic mentality and start eating your fruit. Don't be afraid of over-eating! That should never be a concern! What you should be afraid of is under-eating, especially considering your inability to control your cravings.

Who says so? It is important to count calories, especially in the beginning to make sure you are getting enough.

There is no question of eating that many, because it is physically impossible to do so. It would be necessary to eat more than 10kg of dates in order to achieve that.

The more fruit you eat, the more energetic you'll feel, because fruit sugar is instant fuel. Your body will beg to burn those calories by doing funny things!

Calories are not excreted in the bathroom. The only excretion of our bodies is urine, which are the toxins that were filtered from our blood by our kidneys. Feces is not an excretion, but a secretion, meaning it went in and out of your organism without participating in any metabolic reactions. It is basically composed of fiber, as well as other indigestible compounds or clusters.
Your questions seems pointless to me and it looks like you are looking for excuses to under-eat. Don't be afraid to eat your fruit! Don't eat only as much fruit as you want, eat as much as you can!
Your one and only fear should be under-eating.
Under-eating is the quickest route to failure in the LFRV diet!
Would you rather eat fruit or coagulated rotten mammary secretions with pus and putrefying corpse parts?
Don't try to look for excuses to under-eat and fall prey to your nasty addictions.
If you are still unable to control your cravings, I think you should begin to look at yourself in the mirror and be ashamed of yourself. Grow up! Who are you? Don't you want to look straight in your own eyes and be proud of yourself for doing so much good to yourself and the world?
