Permalink Reply by Datiger on July 2, 2012 at 3:45pm For sure. I just keep going to the doctors and they say it's all in my head, but I've been fortunate to find a doctor that found I have Dysautonomia and a low thyroid, so it's a relief that things are going in the more positive direction. It's just hard to confront reality after I've been bed ridden for over a year. When I'm feeling better, I guess it'll be better, but it's just crazy being in bed for a year. I just would think my friends would push me to get better and be passionate to get me well. I guess I just need to get into a different environment.
We live in a world that needs so much change and I want to be around people that are driven and that will drive me. It just sucks since I can't even stand or lay down or I get all messed up. Anyways yea I 'm ranting lol. Thanks a lot Christos. I'm naturally a productive and busy person, so it kind of sucks.
Permalink Reply by kimberley pineapple princess on April 24, 2012 at 10:55pm hello there. Are you deficient in your diet? The reason i ask is, the number one symptom that came up time and time again when i looked at deficient diet in take was depression. Two reasons we get ill is toxicity and deficiency. We create toxicity with what we take in .... foods/drinks and thought. Our emotions are coping mechanisms. We become deficient when we dont get enough or either have excess in something else creating deficiencies else where. Thoughts create - feelings- which create -emotions! We are the controller of our thoughts that create these emotions, which is so good to know as this means we are able to change our thoughts and emotions in an instant we just need to change the perception. "Perception is power" When we take responsibility for our emotions we then can become empowered to change the thought. First you need to understand why your depressed. Have you not got over things in your life? what are you fearing? or are you just deficient nutritionally? that can be the factor. thats why i was asking. So if you strengthen the cells in your brain/body nutritionally then that will give you the strength to further find the cause. Watch the 'secret law of attraction' on u tube. its amazing. what ever you think about you bring about. So if we focus on what we don't want we get more of it. Often people focus on what they don't want or haven't got so we attract more of this. Writing things down is amazing therapy helps you see things clearly. write a list of things you feel angry or upset about you maybe surprised what comes out when you put pen to paper. Great to release. Things i wasn't even aware of came up. I obviously suppressed the emotion. thats what depression is suppressing your fearful emotions. Whether it be with food drink stimulations out side of you like gambling shopping. We often ignore our feelings for so long or block them that we get to a point of confusion. I know i did. the food helped me emotionally straight away. take away the toxins for clarity, then begin the healing by writing things down or looking at what is it around you that is adding to your low feelings. Anthony robbins is also amazing to watch to understand why we do what we do and how to do things better. great to watch him daily i do. Your past doesn't equal your future. live in the now by taking positive steps to help your self. depression is living in the past, anxiety is fearing the future. Begin with yes is a great book to. this book is not about positive thinking. I did what this books suggests before i had even read it!! i began with yes first then i became positive and happy. Motivation comes during not before. So take a step to self help first. Rather than waiting to feel happy. I was at the lowest point not wanting to live, i was fighting my thoughts so hard i would of done anything not to feel that way. So i did i changed my diet massively!! i ate things i didnt even like ha. that was my first small step to help my self. We get sad because we feel misunderstood and unloved. From my experience learning to love your self is the best place to begin. Nourishing your self is the best place to begin to loving ones self. You deserve it!!. Robbins tells u on his u tube videos about the crazy 8 its being stuck in fear full thoughts! one side of the 8 is the sad side with is the depression the misunderstood, the guilt, low feelings the other side is the angry emotions the anger the blame resentment etc we go back and forth for variety cause the body needs that. when we blame others we give away our power which makes us feel even more helpless. When we choose responsibility for our actions thoughts and situations we can then begin to take action to change our situation. You can change an emotion in an instant put a favourite piece of music on or a comedy and much more. distraction. Understand why will bring you the comfort, but taking a little step daily to help your self will give you a the POWER each day to change your circumstance. Any negative emotion is fear any positive emotion is love. Sadness is a cry for connection that we dont feel we are getting from others, so we therefore cope by connecting with our selves. If we get angry we are then we are choosing significance. we do this to cope also, because we felt the opposite, insignificant. we have 6 needs to meet as humans. 1, certainty 2, un-certainty 3, significance 4, love /connection 5, growth 6, contribution (to others)the first 4 can be met easily for eg we do the same thing every day cause it makes us feel certain. We need uncertainty for variety. We feel significant by buying having things or stimulating like gambling, drinking, get angry at others makes us feel significant thats why this emotion occurs. If we dont feel the 4th love and connection or we feel miss-understood we then cope by connection with the self. the last two are more spiritual. When we are depressed we feel stuck, therefore you arent growing?? we grow by progressing so try something small and new each day. you will be surprised how good you will feel about your self for small changes. If you do the small thing every day nothing in life will change including your thoughts? 6th the need contributing to others. this really fills you up and gives u strength. "giving is living" their is a difference between giving and pleasing. If we do something for someone and wanted anything in return even like gratitude or love then this is pleasing, leaving us resentful. If we just go about our day contributing to others then the real reward comes we feel fulfilled wow thats what we really want in life. to be fulfilled (to have purpose). Giving is all our purpose. That brings true significance and most importantly the connection. Which is what we are after in our feeling of depression. Another amazing book u can order free on line is "a note from a friend" anthony robbins. thats my gift to you. its amazing. ask your self each morning what can i be excited about or happy about or grateful for today?? Do that, an every night ask your self what you have given? brimg your own smile to your day. happiness comes from within. You have the power you just werent given the tools to tap into it. Now you do. You have the power to be do all you want to achieve, and gain all the happiness and fulfillment you deserve. love and blessings kim x

Permalink Reply by Peter Csere on April 24, 2012 at 11:41pm Yeah get lots of carbs, and remember if you go to a psychiatrist they will just push drugs on you. That is their job. Sometimes going to a therapist (psychologist) is a good idea and can help, but remember psychiatrist = drug pusher. Important distinction. Actually sometimes psychologists push psychiatrists and therefore drugs, but most of them are cool.
Have you ever damaged your mind with psychedelic recreational substances?
Permalink Reply by Datiger on July 2, 2012 at 4:02pm It's crazy how long it'll take an M.D. to medicate you, but with Psych stuff they'll give it to you no problem.
My mind is too messed up as it is. I'm constantly thinking and have been going through a lot of physical problems also. I couldn't imagine taking hard stuff, my body couldn't take it. You guys will laugh, but some marijuana can be too strong, it gives me anxiety. The only times it didn't was when I took a tiny little hit.
I did try Datura when I was in high school and that was pretty strong.
Permalink Reply by Claire Cathrin on July 2, 2012 at 4:04pm I used to have post traumatic stress and anxiety. I was thinking of taking depression pills but I found out that unless you were BORN with an in-balance of serotonin levels in your brain, it's probably best to try to fight it off for a while naturally. I had about half a year of wishing to die, I don't believe you should ever commit suicide. Also every night I would sob before I went to bed about my mom dying even though she wasn't in any danger. (My best friends dad died randomly in the middle of the night.) On top of that I had horrible nightmares.
Well a year later life got better and now I feel so thankful! Life is wonderful and there's so much to live for. Well I still have nightmare every night for no good reason. (I'm not depressed anymore XD) I'm sorry, there's no fast way to get rid of depression, but eventually life WILL get better. Or worse, but eventually you'll beat that depression >:D
Permalink Reply by CynthiaRV13 on July 2, 2012 at 7:26pm I have been depressed for... 5 years, I guess, or even more. I've tried a lot of things, but none really worked. After fighting with my mother for a couple of years, I went to a phychiatrist and he prescribed me an antidepressant that made me feel worse. (I've tried others antidepressants before that one, none worked and each time I had to give up with them it was a drama). I don't recommend anybody taking that kind of drugs, they're terrible while you take them and they're terrible when you give 'em up. The fact was that antidepressants made me a little calmer, so it seemed that I wasn't on the edge of suicide anymore, but in reality I was the same, I still hated myself, I still didn't want to live, I still hurted myself. I decided to give 'em up by myself and it was an awful experience, I couldn't walk, couldn't stand up and fainted very often. My body was addicted to them. So, as you can imagine, after taking them, nothing had changed.
Before antidepressants I've taking natural erbs like valerian and chamomile, but didn't worked.
While taking both, I used to went to a psychologist and she really helps me a little (we're still friends). Speaking it's a good way to learn more about yourself and what causes your depression or, at least, to put negative states "outside" of you for a while.
Today I know what were the causes of my depressive mind. I haven't sleep for 10 years... and my mind was full of all the nightmares I made that 4 hours of sleep I had per night. Don't being able to sleep well worse all my condition, I couldn't see reality for what it was.
When I gave up coffee (for other reasons), things were a little better. I slept more and my mood wasn't so bad. When I gave up milk, things really were better. My mind was clear and it was easier to get rid of negative thoughts.
If someone would say to me that changing my diet could change anything, I would have probably laughed at him. But, in reality, this is what happened. I wasn't depressed just because I had a terrible lifestyle, but it worse my situation.
Another things that helps me (I've tried it some weeks ago and still doing even if I'm not depressed anymore, but really calms me) is kundalini yoga. I got a dvd just to try it, and I really love it.
I hope things will be better for you too, soon.
A big hug

Mainstream western medicine is actually starting to realise there is a direct mind-gut interaction. We have always known that, when you are emotionally troubled or upset, you feel it in your gut. But the opposite also holds true.
If you have problems in your gut this will automatically mess with your head. Gluten, for example, can have dramatic effects on susceptible individuals.
I suggest that you put the health of your gut first, then see how this affects your head.
But a word of caution, this should not replace the advice you get from your doctor.
hang in there. we're rootin for you.
Permalink Reply by Lorra Fae on July 2, 2012 at 9:28pm Eat ALL raw.
Get sunshine and failing that, go to a tanning bed. Vitamin D is so important.
Read or listen to Byron Katie and DO the work - it's amazing.
Get enough sleep.
Exercise, even if you don't feel like it.
I still get very depressed and all those things help. I dealt with depression my entire life and it vanished when I went raw after 10 days - but it resurfaces after a few months of winter. Our winters here are long and grey, so I know vitamin D really spurs it on.
Good luck, love.
