Permalink Reply by mangohead on It is like buying a bike, as for the Puma shoes--you can look at the website to see which ones are made for runners (as opposed to made for fashion) but in the end, you gotta just tryem' on :)
Wouldnt trust blindly on any shop for that matter- some do more bad than good.
go to several shops- seek advice from people with experience, and then make your own solid choise. Some so called special shops are not always a guarantee for proper advice, dont bett your money on one horse.

Seriously- gettin the right shoes increases your fun and saves you money in the long run also.
Permalink Reply by mangohead on I would never follow advice blindly either--the nice think about small running shops from my experience is the employees don't sell on commission and they do tend to be runners--and it does help to have the treadmill around. Absolutely seek advice from a bunch of sources (great point miles!!)
yeah-thats my experience too- the smaller-independent ones- seem to be more focused on the running it self instead of only selling stuff. So agreed! Good looking out.
