What do you believe about the dreams you have at night ? There are some interpretations that they are connected to our inner fears/hopes.Others say that it sometimes they show the future. I have a friend who dreamt her father died (he didn't show any sign, he wasn't sick or anything), and the next day she found out he had really died - she was shocked.
I sometimes dream about things I am very concerned about, eg : nightmares eating meat - I am an overnight vegetarian, and I never craved meat eversince. Sometimes I dream of things that are unrelated to anything : being raped. Or I dream about really weird things I do not understand, that don"t follow any logic, it's like beyond explaining, beyond time and space !
I usually remember what I dream about, in bits. There are times when I don't remember anything, and times when I even realise I'm in a dream, and then wake up. The interesting thing is this: if I dream about something fearful, I have a negative vibe during the day. The mood in my dream becomes the mood during the day. If I dream about things with positive feelings, I'm simply full of good vibes all day long, and people ask me if I'm in love.
I don't really know what dreams are ! I only know some of the effects on my mood. I find them interesting.
What do you think about dreams ? I'm really curious about it !

i'm not a great swimmer either, but i still love the water. i trust in the universe and that it will take care of me, and that in the end all will be well and as it shall be.
*unless you're like me and don't believe that anything really dies or ends, it just changes. so you leave your body. now what? on to greater and more beautiful things! <3
Permalink Reply by djd on April 20, 2012 at 6:30pm There are several kinds of dreams or explanations. It can be just a hodge podge of your brain clearing things out and not "mean" anything. It can be premonitory. It can have personal meaning for you. When there are symbols, you have to figure out what they mean to you.

Permalink Reply by Peter on April 20, 2012 at 8:20pm Nothing. Probably just the brain 'putting out the trash'. I don't think there is any meaning what so ever to dreams and therefore wouldn't read too much into them.
Science is still learning about the complex organ that our brain is, consequently we don't fully understand the function of dreams.
People often want to find some sort of meaning in their dreams but I think they are just deluding themselves.
Science finds it particularly difficult to understand what consciousness is. It is one of the great unanswered questions in science.
Permalink Reply by Stephanie McClennon on April 26, 2012 at 12:17pm why do we need science to answer everything for us?

Permalink Reply by Mera/Feather Story on April 26, 2012 at 6:12pm I actually believe that dreams are an inner connection to the teachings of our lives... I believe they connect us to our spiritual transformations in life, our true abilities and our relation to the universe, time/space and each other... I "let my dreams use me" (rather than use my dreams) to grow spiritually and define my balance in life.
I believe there are several levels of dreaming, as well as several types of dreams, several purposes and tons of different ways to interpret them. I believe it is extremely beneficial to grow as a dreamer and become more adept in the dreamworld...I also believe in dreaming as a spiritual practice.
They help me work things out. They make me think about things I may have put aside. Once in a while I have dreams about my former addictions. All in all my dreams are helpful.
