30 Bananas a Day!

Hi everyone, I'm trying to live more in the moment and thought I would start a thread where we can share the things that keep us going down the road to health. I'm thinking it's a way we can record the blessings in our lives as it's so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle.

The aim here is to be discriptive and try to paint a vivid picture to really help connect with that moment or thing that your gratefull for.

Here we go, three things I'm gratfull for today:

1) Waking up 10mins before the alarm at 4:50am in the pitch black and feeling cold under the covers only to have my partner roll over and snuggle me and warm me up.

2) Driving to work along the windy country roads and for an hour and seeing another golden purple sunrise.

3) Having stiff sore lactic acid legs from a weekend of cycling and running. Seeing my fitness improve every day that I'm living 811.

Today I am pondering the wonder of our modern world infrastructure and grateful for it and or possible modern abilities to have everyone eat at least a vegan based diet if they should choose to do so.

Many people still hold on to the old ideas that we need to eat animal products based on the idea that fruit is difficult to obtain in northern regions.

The first thing I want to tell them is if they have fruit available, then eat it.  The problems facing the northern people should not stop you today.

The next though is what have we done to ensure the people in the northern regions can still eat vegan.  If we stop eating animals, then the grains and other vegan crops going to feed them can be diverted to those remote regions and in theory, everyone today should at least be able to go vegan.

It is a win win theory.  Humans get healthier and animals have their right to life.

Peace, PK

I feel like you. Most of us have at least the opportunity to be fully carbed up and fully hydrated. We should really come onto the board here and celebrate that privilege.

This is why I love this forum, because it had people on it who start threads like this. :)

I am grateful because a simple jog through an amazingly beautiful graveyard managed to switch my mood from grumpy to calm and happy

Graveyards, some of my favourite places to hang out. They have a certain serenity to them.

I like graveyards too.  To just hang out and ponder the greater mysteries of the universe.

I have also observed an irony in our elder generations.  When one husband or wife passed away, the other might soon follow within two years.  About 50-100 years ago, I think people really knew what it was to love and or be faithful for 40-50-60 years.  Even if one partner did cheat, they figured out how to make it work.

I wonder what I will observe 50 years from now as our modern western generation is not so faithful.  I do not necessarily mean that in a sexual way, rather, we give up too easily on making it work, trading partners and spouses every 2-5-10 years.

What will our old age be like?

And will any one pine for me when I am dead?

Peace, PK

What a wonderful thread!

I am grateful for:

1) My friends.

2) To have found this community and finding fascinating people here.

So grateful that my boyfriend is still alive after a doorstop robbery today! Just makes you think how precious life really is!!! Really good idea for a post btw :)

I am grateful for all of the bananas on my counter, the watermelon seeds in my garden which just sprouted the other day, and my wonderful boyfriend who is very good to me.

I am grateful for my wonderful hubby who encourages me to do and be the best I can. I am grateful for the freedom of choice I have to eat the way I desire most. Also grateful for the benefits of eating this way.

Today I am grateful for one of Harley's videos where he challenged me to question what my life purpose could be. I still don't really know what that is for sure but at least I'm starting to ask myself the question..........

I cant believe how clouded I was mentally before 811 that I wouldn't even consider this question. Maybe there is no one final answer but just thinking about it makes me feel happier.

the sound of the birds tweeting in my garden ;0)

Today I am most gratfull for being an approachable person.

This morning a guy that I work with offered me an apple and we got talking, turns out he owns an apple farm and said I could come and help and he would teach me about farming. It was only 2 weeks ago that I wrote down in my vision book that I need to get farming experience if I'm going to buy my own farm one day.

Holy cow, I feel so great about this.

What are you gratefull for today?
