Permalink Reply by Michael J on June 15, 2012 at 6:11am The strange thing is - for the most part - I just don't know but I'm loving it. Today I wondered far from home and arrived at a huge Asian market - walked into the produce section and felt like a kid in a candy store. Never have i seen so much variety, volume, colours, aromas, shapes ... with some help I was able to pick out some fruits I have never tried before.
Just when I though it couldn't get any better, I arrived in the clearance section. Perfectly ripened fruit at take me home prices. I walk in with a basket for each arm and walked out with two carts.
One interesting fruit I came across looked almost identical to a potato but soft to the touch. The direct translation from Vietnamese is 'titty milk'. Soft silky sweetness, kinda reminds me of a cherimoya -- Ya, found some of them too in clearance. But the grande prize of the day would have to be the jumbo, super sweet lychees I picked up for $1.59 /lbs.
Just when eating bananas/date smoothies are starting to getting old we always seem to stumble upon something new. Whether that be a new fruit in season, new item at your regular store or a completely new source all together with bizarre and almost alien looking fruit. It is almost strange in the amount of joy taken in something as simple as this.
Permalink Reply by Joanna on June 15, 2012 at 6:37am I've been making my way back as well, for the last week. I'm allowing myself to eat as much as I want and I'm having the best time and having the yummiest food and am staying at the perfect weight and feeling better than I have in a long time!
Today so far: four cups of cut up watermelon
frozen bananas blended with arugula
fruit salad (Blueberries, grapes, banana) covered with sauce made from blended dates, strawberries, and a little frozen banana
more frozen bananas blended with arugula
later I'll have more fruit, probably mango, and a huge salad.

Permalink Reply by Pep Capella on July 15, 2012 at 7:18pm Yesterday I ate a whole 9.2 lb melon for lunch, at a stroke. Wow! I never had eaten that much melon in my life! It was difficult for me getting up out of the chair and walking, my stomach was completely full, it seemed about to burst, but ten minutes later I felt like I was in the seven circle of heaven!
Dennis Price replied to ellenfisher's discussion mango island and i have gas and indigestion. please help
