Hi Everyone,
I was just wondering what all of your experiences of weight loss with this lifestyle were like? I recently lost 36lbs (not on LFHCRV) but want to know if I'm likely to gain weight/lose weight as I still have about another 15-20lbs to lose to be lean and where I want to be, but I'm really scared of eating this much sugar and calories a day because I don't want to gain weight. I'm also getting married in 3 months so can't really afford to put on weight between now and then xx

What is your current weight and what is your goal weight?

Personally I don't see anything wrong with wanting to look good for what is going to be one of the happiest days of your life. :) Plus with all those pictures, I would want to look back and think how healthy and happy I looked. And isn't your body a reflection of both those things?

Thin ≠ healthy. I'm asking the question hoping she can not just go along with stereotypes and others' expectations, but honestly prioritize. If looking good for a day is more important than discovering a whole new level of vitality and happiness, well, okay.

As long as your diet is low in overt fats then eat all the sugary fruit you want! I gained weight when I mixed loads of bananas with olive oil, as I was only 70% 811. This is a big mistake. Whenever I go low fat high sugar the weight drops off.
Also, make sure you dont consume any salt, this will promote water retention and make you look much bigger.
How did you loose the other weight? Congrats by the way!
Permalink Reply by cmiaino on May 26, 2012 at 10:23am I was calorie restricting before and could barely lose a lb in a month... When I went HCRV I lost 11 lbs in 3 weeks. If you got wt to lose you ll lose it, if you are underweight you ll probably gain...
Permalink Reply by magicreative on May 26, 2012 at 10:55am If one just simply eats fruits and veg - low fat - and stops eating when they're full - you'll drop weight FAST ! This is basically what fashion models, who aren't anorexic and/or on hard drugs, do to lose weight before a photo shoot.
The trouble is - and I've been there - is that to feel really good and healthy - and have lots of consistent energy on this diet long term - you have to make sure you're getting in enough calories. A fair number of people who start off on this diet "correctly" - that is - in making sure they're getting in enough calories ( 2500+ ) - they possibly do tend to " bloat up " a little - just from the sheer quantity and water weight from the amounts of fruits and veg you need to eat to hit 2500 + calories.
Exercise and sleep are also very important. In fact - if you heed what many physiologies experience as an increased need for sleep when initially starting on this lifestyle - you'll not only lose weight - but you'll experience something of a "youthing" phenomenon as well. Your eyes will clear up bright, your skin will firm up and glow, your hair will become silkier, and all brain fog will lift. Good luck !
Another important note is that many women who do this lifestyle throughout a pregnancy report that they have markedly reduced pain and duration of labor in childbirth.

Jenna <3 is right - and i'm not trying to be vain, but if I change size and my dress doesn't fit it just seems like a waste.
However, I really want to be a fruity raw vegan so desperately, but my parents really really hate the idea, and even when I'm married it will be difficult. I don't live in a warm climate or anything, but will do my best.
I think i'm going to try a 30 day raw vegan challenge once i'm married and see how I get on, then maybe another one to make it 60 days after that! I just so desperately wish I could do it now... I know you will all say "Why can't you?!" but it's just too hard with the people I live with at the moment
