Hey Raw food friends!
Fresh to this website and what I'm looking for is the best health I can get as well as part take in bodybuilding. I was eating meat and taking protein (the whole shabang) and well I got results. Now that I have switched over to this new life, can I expect the same gains? Vegan bodybuilders look nothing like natural bodybuilders :(

Meat eating will lead you to insanity.
Natural bodybuilders now that's a oxymoron.
Go ask the ox, horse, gorilla what meat eating is all about.

Permalink Reply by Matt on June 10, 2012 at 4:20pm I'd say pound for pound vegans are stronger. Atleast from what I've seen, and experienced myself.
Permalink Reply by Sunshine on June 10, 2012 at 5:21pm yes i have always been the strongest of my peers all threw school and i have NEVER had meat.
Permalink Reply by Matthew on June 10, 2012 at 4:37pm I hear what your saying man. Natural bodybuilders look nothing like ones that use anabolics either. I am thinking that we are not really meant to be huge and if your going to do it vegan then you might have to get used to the idea of being on the lean side and ripped. The good thing about it is when you start getting some years on you like 35 and older those meat eaters are going to really start to see the downside of that toxic lifestyle like smokers they are not exempt. It is a compromise either way you look at it. I saw Lou Ferigno recently and he looks like hammered **** physically.
Permalink Reply by Chris Califano on June 11, 2012 at 4:46am Dear Justin get ready to make some hard choices. Do you want to feel as healthy as possible (and have vastly superior strength, endurance and recuperative abilities (and much more of course) OR do you want to be as big as possible?
These are the two "opposite ends of the spectrum" that your question dictates.
Eating animal products and even cooked grains to an extent will lead to much more and longer nitrogen retention in all your cells, especially your muscle cells. The cleansing nature of vegetables and especially fruits will puff up your body from inflammation and nitrogen retention (lovingly called "positive nitrogen retention" by the bodybuilding zealots lol... but they mean no harm...and the "experts" also talk about PER or "protein efficiency ratio" which simply means, in muscle "building" terms that the higher he PER, the more "size" you will retain.) Of course that is why all bodybuilders must eat at least every three hours. I remember when I was concerned about losing weight if I missed a meal! That was when I was young and dumb and full of... oh that reminds me, here is another point that you may be interested in! Your libido and your "engines" will increase significantly when you adopt a high calorie high carb fruit diet that is for sure.
And you will eventually have zero body odor. Think of the possibilities!!! Just kidding! But seriously, when you combine all this additional incredible human performance, sensitivity and libido with zero offensive body odor as your total machine gets tuned to run at perfect operational condition...then you will be more of a "chick magnet". Or, actually not in our society since it is a rare woman who even cares what a man smells like lol! They are so used to the garbage from their own poor diet that they can not even tell the difference!
But all is not lost trust me! LOL Okay back to your question...
So, once your system "converts" to be able to efficiently burn this kind of nitro methane fuel compared to the low octane (but high "PER" ) foods that you have been eating, then you can start training hard again and reap the benefits of a lean strong and still muscular body, especially if you are not too tall. And you will see your weights go up much more steadily in the years to come. Heck I can lift more weight now at age 53 than at age 20. And I had been training seriously for over four years at that time. Sure I could be bigger if I ate that nitrogen retaining smelly fuel, but I just can not bring myself to do it. I have not been able to for almost 30 years.
So yes you will give up some size, just as the Rolls Royce and Bentley have done in the last 40 years. But they are still beefy. Sleeker yes, but much more powerful pound-for pound.
Goof luck. I'm sure that you will make the right choice. Maybe not now, but as you get older you will see...
Permalink Reply by Justin Walters on June 11, 2012 at 11:53am So your saying 811 cleans out this nitrogen surplus within the body like a detox period? Then after recovering from this detox I will then be able to lift again? I've decided to jump right into the lifestyle with help from frelee and DR videos, china study and Dr G's book. The evidence is overwhelming and I know I would regret not making the switch. A cleaner, healthier, longer lasting strong life IS what I'm looking for.
Thank you so much for the info and I see what you mean with the libido :)
