Has anyone ever tried vacuum sealing smoothies in mason jars for consumption later in the day? How long would they hold up? It sure would make things a lot easier on me when I'm away from home.
Permalink Reply by Freddy Z on April 11, 2012 at 9:51am It works FINE. I take my banana smoothies with me in 4-5 mason jars daily when i leave home. Works like a charm. Glass is the ONLY thing i drink out of. I never use plastic bottles. I'll try to snap a pic later on tonight.
Enjoy :)

Permalink Reply by Freddy Z on April 11, 2012 at 10:12am Well, I don't use/have the "vacuum machine" sealer, if that's what your asking. I just use the air tight mason jar lids which do the job. In any case, i drink them all within 6-8 hours tops. Then I'm back home to blend more. At most, i'll throw it in the fridge and drink it 24 hours later. My food is my #1 top priority, above all else :)
Permalink Reply by IHaveALight - Chris on April 11, 2012 at 10:39am I only drink out of glass too, even have 1 liter glass bottles for my water. Take my morning smoothie with me to work every day in a mason jar. :) I'll have to try storing some for later like that and see how it goes.
Wow, I'm pretty surprised that they last up to 24 hours in the fridge! Does it turn really brown?
