I would never of thought one day I ould be writing about not being able to eat enough calories... lol I have spent my whole life being to told eat lots of protein and no carbs and stay within 1200 cal diet. I have been on a diet since my teen years and I feel I have messed my body and metobalism by doing so. Its been hard for me to reach 2500 calories a day.. today I am only at 1200:/ I feel so stuffed when I eat fruit that its hard for me to eat a lot at one sitting... What fruits are higher in calories and easier to eat? Is any one else struggling with this?

my breakfast alone is around 2000cals (bananas & dates)..
Permalink Reply by Whitney on May 17, 2012 at 6:14pm I'm getting around 1200-1500 I tried to compensate with rice but I don't like rice so it didn't work out well.
work up to it. I tryed to do mono banana island and I can tell you thats worse then just mixing things in smoothies I got through 6 bananas for bfast 1 for snack and 6 more for lunch and i felt sick the rest of the days.
I'm just working more and more in everyday as I can.
little by little add more depending on your appetite don't force it ,eating should feel good! I eat smaller meals like 6 of them I have major digestive problems and when I eat too much at once it dose not help me "at all".

Dates dates dates; high cal, easy to eat or make into dateorade. Can be bought in bulk. Keeping dates and bananas around as staples makes it easy to have available cals. It doesn't take long for your stomach to stretch a little, there are definitely more bites taken with fruit as opposed to densely caloric cooked foods. As the others said, you could try 4-5 meals a day for now.
It's a totally different way of looking at food and diet. Quite strange to be counting calories to make sure you're getting enough, isn't it? I've found it quite freeing and enjoy the "eat as much as you want" aspect. This way, EVERYTHING YOU EAT MAKES YOU FEEL GOOD! It can take some time getting used to, you'll get there.
And yes it was a struggle at first to get in enough cals, but when I didn't I could stay on the fruitiness, my cravings were too strong.

I struggle quite a bit too! Right now I'm aiming for about ten bananas and 20 dates everyday (I usually eat ten bananas whole and then make dateorade with the dates). Seems to really help me and keep the cravings minimal. Along with maybe two other fruit meals and my big salad, I usually get very close to 2,800 calories.
