I've come a long way from wearing pants with a 42 inch waist down to a size 34. But even size 34 is too big. Replacing diet coke with water as my main beverage, getting more active and doing bikram yoga have all made a tremendous difference. Although I've been doing bikram for about three and a half years, I feel that what I eat is even more important than exercise. Not to discount exercise, but it's the lesser component of balanced fitness.
I've experimented with various styles of eating, getting confused between atkins, paleo, vegan, fasting, eating less and so on. Most recently it was paleo. I didn't do very well with paleo. For me it was paleo, whatever else I wanted, and pastry. Disaster. And you'd think I would've seen the light after reading The China Study. I thought it was the holy grail at the time. But then I thought of all the confused fried tofu eating vegans I know trying to make pseudo raw strawberry cheesecake and I went back to the drawing board.
I'm rambling but here's my point. LFRV just seems so right. It's like the first time I completed a bikram class, I know it's for me. The perfect thing about fruit is it helps me overcome my biggest issue, sweet tooth temptation.
I'm looking forward to getting two weeks out, a month out, two months out because I'm not too far from dropping down to size 32 on my pants, and from there if I go down to size 30 which I now believe I will because of LFRV, it'll be full realization of a goal and desire I've pursued for years.
The only place I really want to talk about LFRV, until the benefits become obvious, is here. You know what it's like. Getting all excited and telling everyone about the latest greatest thing you've found. No one wants to hear it. But they'll see it. If they ask, I'll know in my heart that I have the answer. The only question will be, "will they listen?"
