Okay so for some reason I just can't get enough of oranges right now. I'm craving them. I've been trying the raw vegan diet for almost a month (unfortunately I've had a few slip ups, and have eaten three cooked meals. ugh) but anyway, I find that especially around three a clock in the afternoon, I am really craving oranges and actually I just sat down and had a meal of just oranges. I just ate nine of them! That just seems like alot!!
Is it okay to eat that many in one sitting?

That's been a struggle for me starting this diet, is being comfortable with the fact that it's OKAY to eat a large amount of one fruit. I kept feeling very hesitant to eat so much at one sitting but the more I learn about this way of eating, the more I realize that everyone is having large amounts, so I don't need to worry about it.

Permalink Reply by PK on March 30, 2012 at 2:28am Well, oranges tend to be watery and juicy, meaning while they look big, what is actually being digested is much smaller. Many of them may only be 50 calories a piece. So 9 oranges is about 450 calories. That is a small meal or a nice snack just as you described.
I am an orange fanatic and many days may eat at least one mono meal of them. Right now, I have some sweet juicy babies from California. Yumm!

Weird thing I have noticed. Nobody every asks if it is OK to eat butt loads of junk food.
example. 2 lb bag of mm. Super size me. 4 liters of soda a day. Big bags of chips soaked in Hydr oil.
But when it comes healthy food, or food that is good for you people want to check with their Doc first.
I thry to think about that from time to time. Mother nature knows more then Corporate America.
