I don't stick to the Blood Type Diet religiously, but if one goes by the BTD, a few of the main things I'm supposed to avoid are tomatoes and avacados. As you know, both play a major role in 811 recipes (and, I love them!). Should I ditch the ideas presented in the Blood Type Diet and just go full throttle 811??

I think the BTD has a lot of valid information for people but it is flawed in many ways. Just do what makes you feel the best.

I feel great eating tomatoes and avacados, but the BTD makes it sound like "completely avoid these foods!".
But thanks for your input - you're right: it's always about listening to yourself and your body.

Ya, I'd be weary about listening to your body, as it's likely quite messed up due to years of 'unnatural' foods and unhealthy lifestyle (not judging, just relating the typical condition of our bodies). Perhaps after fully living HCRV for several years our bodies are sound and balanced and healthy enough to be trusted, but in the beginning the 'just listen to your body' style has often led to failure. That's why we recommend that people count calories (as objectively as possible) to make sure they're getting enough, not just in terms of energy but nutrients as well. Try out cronometer or a similar program.
Remember: trusting an honest person is smart; trusting a meth addict... not so much. Trusting a healthy body is smart; trusting one ravaged by SAD... not so much.
I think you should ditch it. If you look at animals they don't eat different things based on their blood type, and they do have different blood types. Where ever you find groups of animals they always eat the same so humans should not be an exception - but unfortunately they are!
Plus I heard there were no references in that book. I've never read it, is that true? If so I wouldn't pay much heed to it.
Permalink Reply by Ren on May 9, 2012 at 12:40pm Perry, I checked the book and there are references BUT what does that really mean, anyway??
Your comparison to animals is really making me think: True-Animals don't eat based on their blood type.
Thanks for helping me to expand my thoughts on this!
Oh there are, sorry, my bad. But, yes you are right, that might not mean much.
Glad I could help with the nature comparison. I find looking to nature helps a lot. For example, when I am often asked, "Well where do you get your protein?" I just ask them where a gorilla or a cow gets theirs and that is usually the end of it.

Avocados don't play a major role in 811 recipes. In fact, they rarely play a role at all, as they are very high in fat. Eating avocados regularly will bring you steadily above the 10% ratio of fats.
Secondly, the blood type diet has been thoroughly debunked and is not something we abide by on 30BaD. It's just not how we do things.

Permalink Reply by ORGANIC811LFRV on May 10, 2012 at 12:37am Dr. Graham exposes the blood type hype/myth very adequately and beutifully. He states that there are 15 blood types in cows and their primary NATURAL diet is grass! All of them.
811 is a SPECIES specific diet. Only humans need to follow it for excellent health.
Permalink Reply by PK on May 10, 2012 at 2:22am Yes, ditch the blood type diet ideas.
In nature, all animals of the same species eat the optimum food for that species. There are no special animals and special blood types.
The problem you might encounter with avocado is not with your blood type, but in that avos are high fat. Fats, even so called healthy ones, can sludge up the blood and lymphatic system preventing the cells from absorbing nutrients. This may lead to complications such as high blood sugar, candida, diabetes, and weight gain. As tissues slowly get weaker, including the brain, people may feel tired as well.
So, we advice people here to eat low fat raw fruits and tender leafy greens like romaine lettuce.
We advice people to just go full throttle and not transition as well. Fruit just does not mix well with high fat products, cooked foods, and processed foods.
