Isn't it beautiful? Really inspiring for Raw-ness!
Permalink Reply by Amanda Lily on March 18, 2012 at 1:32am I'm from Winnipeg and we pretty much did not have a winter at all! We are known for being the coldest city in Canada (or something like that). Anyways, we usually have winters where the windchill gets it to -50C for weeks at a time and this year we got maybe a few days of -30C...the rest was almost like cold (Winnipeg) Autumn weather. And like no snow! Already yesterday I was walking around in a T-shirt and jeans but any other year we would still be wearing snow suits and walking in snow up to knee deep lol :P
Permalink Reply by Esra on March 21, 2012 at 4:56am You mean WINTERpeg :p?
I was wondering how Winnipeg was this winter. I was there last winter around christmas time and it was FREEZING!
Permalink Reply by Amanda Lily on March 21, 2012 at 7:32am haha...yes..us locals do lovingly call it Winterpeg :P and yes, it usually is freezing. I always wonder WTF people were thinking when they settled here. (I know the answer has to do with rivers and fur trade etc but still...)
Permalink Reply by apple@li on March 18, 2012 at 11:41pm Wow... isn't it weird?? I mean I'm not complaining! You girls must be soooo happy!!!! I always wanna visit Canada, but think its cold up there lol.. Maybe this is the year to visit!?!?! :)
Permalink Reply by Kristi Warner on March 19, 2012 at 2:53am Lol I always think it is funny when people say this..I checked your weather vs. where I am..we are about 3 degrees (37.4) higher then you every day this week. I have spent a year in Wisconsin - the summers there are more mild, the winters are colder and snowier. We get into the 40's (104 Fahrenheit), but are known for having extremes of hot and cold, here the cold is not so bad. Fairly close to what you would experience there, since you are only a few hours to the East.
Permalink Reply by Freddy Z on March 21, 2012 at 4:39am Montreal or Toronto is where u need to visit. Some people like Montreal better. Having grown up in Montreal, i do enjoy Toronto sometimes for a change, or NYC if i wanna do the NY thing; it never gets boring :)
Permalink Reply by Amanda Lily on March 21, 2012 at 7:33am Not all places in Canada are nearly this cold. Some cities have winter like our autumns or springs are.
it was only two weeks minus 15 and that was winter- lame winter, now its like a boring fall, seems like real winters and summers too for that matter are gone.
Permalink Reply by Chris P. on March 18, 2012 at 11:57pm I'm in MD and it's been unusually mild this winter. I have to say, that since before and after work, I do farm chores, I don't mind much! :)
It's tough to say what exactly causes these things although there is a natural cycle with weather and it does happen from time to time. There's also likely climate change from human tinkering, the data sure seems to point towards it, I'm just not sure of the magnitude. That said, it's simply smart to try to reduce our impact. Even if the data didn't point towards climate change from what we humans do, I would still want to try to minimize my impact on the environment, it just seems foolhardy not to.
