30 Bananas a Day!

So I have tried raw in the past, but when I had done raw, I was not aware of some of the sensitivities that I had. I cannot consume nightshades of any sort without it causing heartburn, indigestion, and general discomfort. I also do not do well eating peppers, especially green, which I guess is a fairly common sensitivity.

Keeping these things in mind, if I were to be raw rather than "raw till 4", what would be my best options staple wise for salads? Many people go to tomatoes, peppers, mango dressings, all of which I cannot consume without it causing a reaction for myself.

Also, when I was raw before, I kept my fat intake very very low. I don't remember very many instances where I ate avocado or any source of it, really. For a long term sustained lifestyle on raw, do you find that fats are necessary? And if so, what amounts of it and sources of it have you found to be the most beneficial for you?

Thank you!

Some fat is definitely essential. I like pumpkin seeds and walnuts.

Trader Joe's makes a pomegranate vinegar that is delicious on salads. Dr. Joel Fuhrman has other bottled dressing without oil you might look at. Lemon juice is delicious on salad with pepper.

Try raw for a while and see how you feel. Experiment with some different nuts and seeds in moderation and try upping the fats a bit with avocado after you get comfortable. If it doesn't work for you, don't be afraid to adjust as necessary

I am thinking about going completely raw myself.  Unfortunately i picked winter in the northern united states so the produce won't be as fresh.  What's your activity level like?  I believe that fats are required but not as much as we think they are.  i run marathons as i will soon be training for Boston so health is important and frequently on my mind. i might do some experimenting.
