What are positive and negative effects when you mix an over average amount of fruit (let's say one meal a day/500 calories) with a SAD?
For example what effects would it have on:
1) weight
2) body fat
3) candida
4) bloodsugar/diabetes
5) muscle mass
6) etc.
Would you recommend this to a SADler? And which meal would you replace (breakfest, lunch, dinner)?

Permalink Reply by vegan witch Ⓥ on April 12, 2012 at 9:27pm the use of fruit is usually to post for a photo that will be slapped on the packaging but thats where its involvement ends - no fruit inside just refined sugars, artificial colourings, flavourings and GMO animal products usually.

Permalink Reply by Peter Csere on April 13, 2012 at 3:03am It could negatively affect candida and bloodsugar/diabetes. 500 calories is much more fruit than most SADers eat. Combining high fruit/high fat is bad news.
Weight, body fat, muscle mass, I can't see how those would be significantly affected. If anything it would assist with weight loss because perhaps the carbs would replace calories that would otherwise be from fat.

Breakfast would be best. There are people on standard omnivore type diets who do eat lots of fruit especially the tropical permaculture guys .
