Even now after 5 mounts of 811 I can't handle a day with my chocolate :(
No matter how many articles ill read about its poisoness, I live with non 811 people so the choclate witch is always in the house keeps on being eaten by me. Feels gross after but can't help it.
There was a day i ate a lot of lychee fruit in order to stop the addiction, but now the beautiful fruit is not enough.

Permalink Reply by Sarah Emerson on August 20, 2012 at 6:09am What is the emotion tied to chocolate.. Its an energy addiction to the chocolate. It induces something within you that you crave and don't believe you will be able to produce on your own. I was a choco nut too but as soon as I started to look within, meditate and clean my mind, I found myself not really attracted to chocolate anymore.. If i did eat it, it caused such a terrible reaction in my body, that I couldn't even really eat it without feeling like crapola after and that was not my past reaction to chocolate rather it used to be euphoria a momentary feeling of love and i craved that all the time so i ALAWYS indulged in chocolate
its not so much the physical you are struggling with, that is just what you see and experience.. its the emotional and spiritual aspects that you don't see that are causing the real problem
look within my friend.. look within
I used to love chocolate. It just doesn't interest me anymore now that I eat so much fruit. Sweet, yummy dates taste much better! Can you keep a stash of medjuls handy to eat instead....?

Permalink Reply by T on August 20, 2012 at 7:16am I have fought chocolate addiction alot --- luckily, I had given it up for about a month or so before starting this way of eating, so I don't crave it. In the past I could put together weeks or months with no chocolate, but the minute I had one piece, it was all over and back into the daily addiction again.
Nowadays I don't miss it, because I'm getting so much sweetness with fruit I simply don't want any more sweets of any kind.
Here are some tips to add to your defenses:
1.) Carob smoothie? Get some carob powder and throw it in with your banana smoothie when you crave chocolate.
2.) Google "chocolate slavery" and find out how most chocolate is grown by child slaves and facilitated by human traficking. Even if you buy fair trade chocolate, is the sugar fair trade? Google "Big Sugar documentary" and watch it... see how sugar is grown in exploitive slave-like conditions. Maybe the ethical angle will give you the will power you need for a couple days until the addiction is behind you. I now think of the energy I get from chocolate as stealing the energy of slaves who made it.

Permalink Reply by Alexandra R. on August 20, 2012 at 9:46am Try the fruit called a Chocolate Sapote. I can't vouch for it since I personally have never tried it, but it's supposed to taste like chocolate pudding.
Or even try carob powder; it supposedly tastes like cocoa but doesn't have the toxins that cocoa does.
Permalink Reply by Trevor Gates on August 20, 2012 at 10:08am I eat a lot of Chocolate Sapote having a 40' tree just outside my house and although I do love them they taste nothing like chocolate! They look like chocolate pudding but taste like almost nothing.. I like to mix them with carob powder and bananas into a smoothie for a chocolate like "shake".
Another fruit that I personally think has a distinctly chocolaty taste is an Abiu. And boy oh boy are they delicious!
Oh and I second the carob powder thing..

Permalink Reply by Peter Csere on August 21, 2012 at 1:49am Hi Jack,
Please read Ingredients and Materials not supported on 30BaD.
It is against 30BAD policies to promote "crackao" on the board. Cacao seed is a potent and addictive stimulant, containing the neurotoxic poison theobromine. It is not fit for human consumption. The cacao fruit is perfectly edible, though.
In the future, please refrain from promoting/suggesting items on the Ingredients/Materials Not Supported list. Thanks.
