Medjool? Honey? Bahri? or one of the others. What is your favorite date?
My first date came after I began to look into raw vegan. I have only had Medjool dates.

Anyone know if the Date People are open to orders now?
Permalink Reply by Tarah @ 40 Below Fruity on September 19, 2011 at 3:43am Definitely Bahri. They're very gooey and taste like a light caramel.
Khadrawi are deeper in their flavour but equally as delicious. They're much more rich.
Halawi are also good but not as flavorful as the above two.
I'm not a fan at all of deglet noor. I find they're not very sweet and quite dry.
I've never tried fresh medjools or honeys.

Permalink Reply by Invisible on October 20, 2011 at 8:51pm I am LOVING Barhi dates lately. I ate a whole pound today... whoa. I'm not sure WHY I like them. They were pretty ripe but I was also enjoying them semi-crunchy. They have such a powerful taste. The others I get are Khalawrys? and another one like that along with honey dates. They taste like brown sugar, honey, or carmel respectively. Barhi, I'm not sure how to describe the taste except YUM!
I only bought Medjools from the store before I knew better or could by real/fresh dates. Now I don't bother with them anymore. I'm really into the soft and fresh vs. drier, chewier.
