Okay well my father doesnt like the fact hat im not eating bread, meat , dairy Etc anymore. Because he thinks that im not getting enough nutrients and Vitamins from fruit and Vegetables -_- So he has said that i should take Supplements, like Multi plus and Calcium etc. Is this still raw and I need to explain to him how im going to get the max nutritents from eating a raw food diet, Ive also Purchased 80/10/10 So hopefully that helps abit.
Fruits have more vitamins per calorie than any other food, and vegetables have the most minerals per calorie.
Supplements exist to correct the nutritional deficiencies of typical diets. This diet does not require supplements because it provides all the necessary nutrients.
Ask your Dad why he supps then? Ask him why he eats food with added supps. Meat that has b12 injections before slaughter. Cereals 'enriched', fruit juice with added vitamins, red bull or other 'energy' drinks with b12 and taurine..
Ask him in a nice way cos your gonna expose his hypocrisy.
'you cant eat healthy cos you wont get enough nutrition so you need to supplement! Supplement just like I do on my SAD diet!'
Average person on Mark Sisson's paleo primal diet is taking around 126 supps a day. I only do one supp every few months.
Aha thanks Harley. Im thinking bout telling him bout you and freelee and this whole website and how great! it is. And the 80/10/10 Book hopefully helps :) I want to show him actually how good this lifestyle is for us .
One of the best ways is to agree to log your food for a while (say a few weeks) with cronometer.com , fitday.com or nutridiary.com. (I use cron-o-meter, because it it faster in use, but fitday gives better overviews). Make sure to adjust the values for zinc, calcium and sodium a bit, search 30BaD for the values. Then show the reports!!! It would be nice if you convince your dad to do the same for his diet ;)
I do recommend B12 and vitamin D, but I recommend this for everybody regardless of there diet.
Your dad is worried. He wants you to be healthy and safe. You are doing something he hasn't been exposed to before and goes against what he has been taught. Plug your daily intake into the cronometer and show him how many nutrients you are getting. He may not understand that fruits have protein. Many people don't know that. Will he watch YouTube videos?--there are many very professional ones, like with Doug Graham or Tim VanOrden talking about nutritional topics with lots of evidence. Also, you can probably get The China Study from your local library.
Sorry saw your reply to late, I will second this :)
Hi, I have same problem as you :) im athlete and my father doesnt want to belive, that this diet is good for me. And that is big barrier for my way to RAW :( but never give up, fruit, vegetables and greens have all what your body need :):)
