I just noticed this.
When my breakfast consists of bananas and dates, I seem to be hungrier through out the day. If I only eat my bananas and dates towards later in the day, I'll be hungry after that. The kind of ravenous hunger where my tummy makes noise and I find it hard to concentrate.
But when my breakfast (or meal) is made of oranges or grapefruits, it seems the same effect doesn't happen; I feel full, but not like I'm going to explode, and the feeling lasts a few hours before hunger comes again.
I would probably note that my banana/dates meal has 2x the calories of my oranges or grapefruit meals.
Does this make sense? Is this normal? Should I drop the bananas/dates? Or eat less of them? I much prefer the sweet over the acid/sour, but it's hard for me to concentrate on other things if I have the sweet.

Permalink Reply by Esperanza Vite - The Raw Monkey on February 25, 2012 at 8:32pm Is it possible the dates are cooked? If I eat cooked dates I get so hungry afterwards, but raw ones fill me up for hours. Also, when I used to eat really acidic oranges they kind of messed with my digestion so i would not feel like eating afterwards cos my stomach was tense from the acidity, even though my energy was low and I needed more food. Sugary sweet fruit is the way to go for sure :)
Permalink Reply by Moiraine Damodred on February 26, 2012 at 1:00am Try adding greens to your dates/bananas, and drink a LOT of water with them. And if you make sure you're getting 3% fat and 3% protein (at MINIMUM) daily, the cravings should vanish. :) Worked for me, at least? Let me know how it goes for you!
Personally, I think the water is key, if you seem fine after the oranges.
