What are your thoughts on Supermarket juice, how can you tell if its good or not. I see Alot of juices that have fruit juice concentrate.. What is it that exactly?
Say for instance i felt like juice but had to be somewhere in a hurry , what are the main things i need to look for at the supermarket to get a more nutrient "real fruit" juice or smoothie without just getting sugar additatives? .. that bad sugars .
Thankss x

There shouldn't be citric acid, ascorbic acid (which some people think is vitamin C), and you DEFINITELY don't want "NATURAL FLAVORS." Because natural flavors often have meat and dairy and weird chemicals. Yes, even in juice. Often the juice sits in big unrefrigerated vats for weeks, and loses its flavor, so they have to add "natural flavor" to it before boiling and bottling.
Fruit juice concentrate means basically they reduced it (by heating or boiling) for shipping and storage, and then diluted it again when bottling. 100% fruit juice not from concentrate is better.
Refrigerated juice is generally better as other juice has to basically be boiled in order to stay good in a bottle on a shelf at room temperature for weeks. The stuff in the fridge section often was not pasteurized quite as much.
There is one type of store juice that I buy occasionally. It is Uncle Matt's organic orange juice with pulp, flash pasteurized in a BPA-free bottle. Of course, flash pasteurized is still pasteurized, and plastic is still not good for me, but hey. Sometimes I just want a half gallon of OJ without standing in front of the juicer for an hour.

Im not under any illusion that bottled juices are better than whole fruits BUT I also know its vital to be carbed up then undercarbed and flaking.
