I know there are tons of discussions out there about bloating and how you should give it time or that it is caused by food combining. But I have been on raw for over 2 months now with barely any overt fats. I guess I am getting frustrated and I wish someone could tell me what I am doing wrong. My stomach hurts when I touch it, I have pain when I go to the bathroom sometimes, and I have a pregnant belly that seems to never want to go down, even in the morning. I think I eat too much; I have bananas and dates in the morning, 4 glasses of smoothie for lunch with frozen fruit (could that be it?) and then a salad for dinner. I KNOW I am hungry, just my stomach hurts when I put food in... its funny though because during spring break I was relaxed and my stomach stopped bloating but as soon as school started again the bloating came back. (I also heard bloating can be caused by stress)....also I went raw in the fall but then went back to cooked vegan during the winter unfortunately (the cold weather got to me). In the fall I had zero problems with bloating, maybe my metabolism is just screwed up from going raw then cooked to raw again. as you can see I have several theories, whatever it is I lost weight everywhere except for my tummy, I look like one of those starved african kids almost :/ uhh it hurts sooo much... I cant sleep please!! someone tell me what I should dooo :(
Perhaps your portions are a little too much all at one time..... Sounds like a build up of gases. And I know how uncomfortable that can be, try drinking a few glasses of water in the morning before eating. Start eating every 2 hours with your portions being enough to fill full but not stuffed this way you allow your system to digest those foods. It is a good idea to eat the fruits first, then salads then your last meal can include the small amounts of healthy fats with your vegan meal for that satiated feeling. Sounds like you have a bit of a back up. Be careful with that, you don't want to explode lol. Just kidding but one night I felt like I was going to explode and literally had to take a water laxative. At least I was able to sleep without feeling like I might die....I think that particular day I had combined way too many really healthy foods and over did the amount too. "Common sense I told myself," you don't have to pigout, tomorrow is another day. I had become so excited over the idea that I didn't have to count calories if I ate the right foods, that I really over did it. You'll be ok....just take it easy and let the food digest before starting in again.
Sounds like fructose intolerance.
haha thanks you guys, today I feel much better and my pregnant belly went down and it doesnt hurt as much.
Thats a good sign! I do have to agree with the eating too much at one time thing. I dont eat much in the mornings and then at lunch all I have is an orange because I feel people would look at me funny (im a senior in high school) if I brought in a bunch of bananas...then I get home and I am starving. But I have been getting better (eating more during breakfast). The only thing that worries me is next year in college, how am I going to live? My parents don't really support my lifestyle and there is no ripe anything at the college I am going to. I would buy food for myself but idk if i have the money.... anyway why does eating like nature intended sooo hard in this society! I hope I find fellow raw vegans at college, that would be awesome :)
Hi, there are several things coming to my mind
- you eat to fast, too much, are dehydrated
- you eat combinations that you do not tolerate - might be fat and sugar, sour and sweet, ...
- change in eating habits is too fast and your body did not adopt yet
- stress from school distroys your soft balance and it will take time
I'd go to the doctor and get some tests done!
You could have ulcers, SIBO, IBS, H. Plyori, parasites, etc, etc..
Get a full bloodwork and other tests like breath, stool, etc.
30bad is not a hospital and although we can share tips on how to live a healthy lifestyle, in some cases medical diagnosis/intervention might be needed if damage of the body is too great.
I am happy to say my bloating is gone, I think it might of been from eating unripe fruit...never doing that again.
