Hi, I am at this point desperate for advice. My naturopath is saying I should just stick to the candida diet while my leaky gut is healing, because if I were to eat fruit now it would increase my yeast and in turn-worsen my leaky gut.
I'm tired of all the medications and supplements I am on, and I want to do this diet. But I need to know-is there a way to start out on this diet with less fat in your bloodstream, so that your yeast doesn't get worse? I've heard of fasting, but its kind of a hard thing for me to do with my school schedule. After a high fat animal-diet, how long do you think I would have to fast in order to not spike my candida when starting to eat large amounts of fruit?
perhaps I could just eat insane amounts of veggies and a handful of nuts for a few days... But I am already really skinny from my digestive issues and I think that might make me lose more weight.
I am trying to get my mom to read the 80/10/10 diet so she doesn't just think I am insane, but she has a busy life and doesn't have much time for reading. But I am wanting to start as soon as possible, because I am tired of feeling exhausted, bloated, anxious, depressed on a daily basis.
I thought about getting a consultation with Dr. Graham himself, but I don't really have the money at this point and I had to quit my job because of my health issues.
Any input would be helpful-especially anyone who has transitioned to this diet with a bad case of candida and leaky gut. Thanks

He also does not talk about the importance of exercise.

Permalink Reply by Rawfruitygoddess on October 2, 2011 at 3:39pm Contact David Klein for your digestive issues, trust me stick with low fat rv lots and lots of greens, keep the fats out or low til you are well, green juices green smoothies.I find once a week 1 day water fasting to be of a tremendous help to increasing healing progress.Just don't give up ,the body heals in it's own time,we are the ones that stuff it up by being impatient.
Permalink Reply by sara brunk on October 3, 2011 at 6:14am I tried doing the 80/10/10 for 3 days, the first two of which I felt it did my body some good, and felt a tremendous healing.
But of course in order to get enough calories since I was just beginning and my stomach was still learning how to stretch, and I am already skinny and didn't want to lose a lot more weight or my mom would freak out and harass me. I started to eat more sweet fruit, and because my teeth were getting sensitive from all the acid. On the third day I had a lunch of dates-and after that I had a terrible headache and my candida symptoms got really really bad. I kept with it though and had a dinner of strawberries and a huge salad. At this point my digestive system had come to almost a complete halt, I had the most excruciating migraine I have ever experienced along with terrible nausea, my eczema was flaring, I had a vaginal yeast infection, I was having extreme anxiety attacks and depression.
Is there any way to do this diet without the yeast flaring temporarily like this? It was so painful I literally just started taking my pharmaceutical yeast medicine again and went to bed. Could it be that my yeast is much worse because it is coupled with leaky gut syndrome?
should I just stick to acid fruits for a while? Is it possible to get your caloric needs for the day this way?
Permalink Reply by sara brunk on October 3, 2011 at 6:30am But I looked up the symptoms for yeast die off, and they are not the same as the symptoms for yeast flaring. What I am concerned about is that my yeast flaring will get too out of control before they start to die off.
I am just worried as I am starting college and am faced with mental challenges every day. I don't want my foggy yeast brain to hurt my grades. I literally could not think and was in so much pain last night I thought I would vomit. I was having memory issues and thought things had happened that didn't. These are some of the symptoms of extreme candida blooming.
Maybe I need to wait until summer to do this cleanse that is in any way practical for my life.

Permalink Reply by Adam on October 3, 2011 at 7:09am I appreciate you had awful symptoms, but 3 days really isn't much time.
If you want to slow the release of sugars, eat lots of greens before your meal. Avoid dates for the first few days and stick with higher water content fruits and use bananas for the higher calorie fruits. You will feel much better after a week or so.
I remember when I first went raw I couldnt eat dates for the first couple of weeks without experiencing my skin burning. To be honest, after the first couple of months eating raw, I didn't eat dates again for years.
Stick with the fruits you enjoy and that make you feel good.
Take care

I would add another Dislike: the use and abuse of innocent animals, usually young ones, for live glands supplement. very painful procedure to squeeze bile out of young bear cub's gallbladder, day after day, until the poor animal becomes useless for this purpose.
Dr. Morse uses these glandulars as a kickstart to his healing modalities.
