30 Bananas a Day!

Sad to hear anyone check'n off the planet. Im mentioning this one due to the fact that Steve Byrnes was a big 'you need to eat lots of animal products for a healthy heart..' promoter.

He died of a stroke in the end and was 40. How many more millions have to die of heart disease/stroke before we get the low fat vegan message?

Dr Atkins died of heart failure and was another high fat promoter.

It doesnt look good for the Weston A Price foundation when one of their biggest promoters dies from a high fat dietary induced disease. Dr Price actually promoted a low fat vegetarian diet, but when your dead, no one can object when you use your name to promote the wrong conclusions.

Diets high in cholesterol + saturated fat = heart disease/cancer and or stroke.

RIP Steven Byrnes.

I guess thats where the words- "Good Grief" come from..
Karma-sow violence and untruth, and reap death. Its sad so many of the SADists have to learn the hard way. Hopefully he'll be wiser in the next life.
Right you are.
Greg,

Very true.
contrast with Donald Watson, coiner of the term veganism.. Was vegetarian since age 14 and vegan for 5 decades. Died peacefully at age 95.

Any sources for the info that W Price advocated a low fat vegetarian diet?
Isn't he the guy that died years ago from an aids related complication (stroke)? Steve Byrnes had been sick for a long time is what I had read. Dr Atkins died from falling in the snow. Maybe their diet hurt them but I doubt it can be proven based on having aids or falling on icy snow. If there is any proof it'd be great to see. Don't get me wrong. I believe fruit and veg is way better for health and the planet.
According to the leading specialists in stroke/heart disease :Dr Esselstyn, Dr Ornish, Dr Klaper, Dr McDougall, a high fat diet creates em. The same high fat diet that Mr Byrnes heavily ate and promoted.

Maybe it was aids though.. I guess thats what WAP followers would like to believe. Its like throwing a brick at a glass window and blaming the window for breaking instead of the persons actions. :)

He ate a high fat, high saturated fat, high cholesterol, low plant diet and he died of stroke. Now it must have been something else cos lots of cholesterol, fat, saturated fat is healthy for our hearts Dr Atkins told us!

Dr Atkins died overweight at 258lbs and of a severe heart attack and suffered a fall acording to the hospital report. He was 5'10 and 258lbs. Unless your a sterioded up bodybuilder, that BMI qualifies someone for obesity and its associated heart disease risks. But if I was working for Atkins, Id pay off someone to say otherwise.

Steve Byrnes died of stroke aged 40. His immune system was so weak from his high fat immune system destroying diet, that he had AIDS.

Here is a good article about it.

the irony is he was an aids denier. the low carbers maintain that he died of a rupture stroke (which isn't caused by atherosclerosis) but I'm not aware of any proof of this. he also took a lot of drugs to deal with the aids symptoms presumably (if they weren't causing them). the animal products didn't help him live longer in any case.
Thanks for the extra links. I had wondered what came first the fall or the heart attack. Without an autopsy it's hard to tell for sure. It does seem telling that Mrs Atkins does mention him having heart disease, reading between the lines it does seem quite possible. Love the work of the PCRM Excellent organization.
