I tried this, and it def. helps. Funny in a way, but in seriousness it is great. I have thought of leaning forward which helps, but this, even more. Let it out is the goal when it comes to the waste. lol.

Permalink Reply by sunwukung on January 30, 2012 at 11:46am seriously? it is supposed squatting helps to cure those problems, because sitting caused hemorrhoids. Maybe you don't wait enough time. It is the natural position.
Permalink Reply by sunwukung on February 1, 2012 at 11:19pm Now you aren't constipated, do you think it would work? Haven't you tried again?
Permalink Reply by Derek on February 1, 2012 at 4:10pm I watch the dogs poo outside.. I'm like why shouldn't I too! saves water :P
Permalink Reply by Shery on January 31, 2012 at 7:33pm This is great. If you're just starting out though or have a problem staying in that squat (or learning to aim correctly in it), you can take a little chair or turn a laundry basket upside down and prop your legs on it to get the posture. This was how I transitioned :)
Permalink Reply by Windlord on February 1, 2012 at 2:47pm I highly endorse squattage, and practice it myself.
The key is to do it safely!
Pls read the comments attached below this vid (which is great in itself but only partially related to this discussion) in reverse order (to keep it chronological) to see what I mean and work out the best system for you:

Permalink Reply by Mila Porter on February 1, 2012 at 3:48pm I collect my waste for compost by squatting in a bag outside. At first it was really gross given we are taught from an early age that poop is for flushing purposes only. Now it feels natural, like it should be! That said, I'll be skipping the 3 am visit to the garden this week as it's about to hit minus 3 in London.
Permalink Reply by Derek on February 1, 2012 at 4:14pm Since I've started squatting, I've noticed a few changes.
I poo once... maybe twice in a day... always in the morning when I wake up. It's the first thing I do, wake up, run to the bathroom to pee and poo.
My poo isn't as solid as it used to be. Not sure why this is.
I like it though! I get up on the toilet (never leave the seat down so you can't break it) do my business. Quick easy. I never feel constipated or bloated. Pretty sure my tummy is a lot slimmer looking now. I don't have any kind of excess bulging that I felt I had before.
A+++!
