More yogish progression, I see. Congrats! How do you get from crow into tripod without cracking your skull?
Play: morn
short bike to the park
CC:
-Close Pushups (chest to softball) 2/20, 20
-1/2 depth 1leg SQ 1/7/12
then hopped a step to full negative/hand pushing off a ball on the positive 1/15/15
finally, 3 reps full one leggers, alternating legs. All SQ's done on decline.
I noticed that it seems that my little stabilizers seems to tire out and burn faster than my major muscles. Makes it tougher in such a balance-centric move.
-Hanging Straight 45degree raise 2/5, 5
then 10 reps of the Master Step, Full straight leg. Yep, it's actually easier.
-1/2 HSPU (regulation depth off about a 5.5inch block) 2/12, 9
-1/2 Bridge 2/11, 12
Feeling a bit stuck on these. maybe i'll add in some full bridges just to shake things up.
-Pullups: pulls 11/ chins 10, 2/ pulls 3,3,3,2/ chins 9,1/ pulls, 4,3,2,1
eve: 1 hr group yoga class

Good one WL, I watched it back and the instructor starts with a high crow, then lowers down with her arms and puts her head on the floor into the tripod. I might have started in crow, let my toes help me into the tripod to stretch up into headstand, don't remember. She does this all from a standing straddle, but I definitely cannot do that :) so I rush to the wall during class. I will see next time how I solved it.
This might help for the one legged squats :)

Hi Sita & WL! You guys are doing some daredevil workouts! Wow. :) You guys are so badass. It's amazing how fit you guys have become & how you keep progressing.
Hi Everyone! All you Dear Daredevils, Brilliant Badasses, Slowpoke Turtles, & Racy Rabbits, :) Hi Everyone!
The trip to the two animal sanctuaries was SO GOOD. :) I really had a great time. And I'm so happy that I found a sanctuary that I think I could team up with. I going to try to get a few meditation & art projects happening there if I can. Maybe yoga too. Although, I would have to brush-up A LOT on the yoga. I'll keep you guys posted on how it goes. I might meet with them next month & brainstorm a bit on on we can work together.

Yesterday I went to a Zumba class. On the way there I had a big fall. :( My legs got looped by some sort of clear plastic loop that was on the pavement. It went under one foot, then looped around the other, & down I went. Right on my left hip & knee. (The ones that give me trouble.) After the fall I still headed straight to Zumba class, with scratched hands & knees & a little blood. My body was so stiff in the class, getting down low for dance was tough. Also, my hip felt out of place the whole class, like my body was out-of-wack. After that I came home & got on the inversion table -- which helped a lot. I also did some hip stretches & got plenty of sleep. I'm feeling so much better.
Today is my Congolese dance class. I'm really looking forward to it, but I'm a little nervous. Hoping that things aren't still stiff, because African dance can get pretty low, with lots of squat-like movements. But there is NO WAY that I am missing class. :) So here I go!

But I think this title belongs to you, Luv. Who else would pick her bloody scraped self off the sidewalk and still jump into an intense dance class!
Sounds like a perfect match with your work and the farms. I wonder if they'd like one of your giant bunnies?
Sweet, Doug! You just keep plugging along, mate :)
Play: morn
10 min circuit (tabata timing)
-alternating over shoulder sledgehammer strikes (averaged about 10)
-DB swings, 50# once warm (averaged about 13)
eve: some walking and a 25 min bare jog
Permalink Reply by Sita on August 1, 2012 at 5:51pm That's what I thought: Who's the Badass here??? Wow, such a fall and still go on dancing, that's some spirit you have!
We all love your posts full of joy for life and sunshine :) Good luck with the projects at the sanctuary, sounds very interesting!
Hi Banana-boy, yes I feel too that the muscles love to be nourished by fruits :) Bananas are still my staple food and my favorite.
This morning workout:
56 min intermediate yoga class Your heart, Your Life. Done all of it except the headstand from standing straddle, really think that's advanced level...Who can do it here and has tips for me?
Will make my many bananas breakfast smoothie now, always looking forward to it :)
1st Day of August and a new chapter begins for me: no more cooking for my son now he has his own place. More time for meditation too, I started to meditate every night before going to sleep, Aimée. It makes such a difference! Thanks for inspiring me to make it part of my every day ;)
Permalink Reply by ♥ AimeeLovesYou on August 1, 2012 at 10:33pm Hi Doug aka Banana-Boy, Hi Sita, Hi WL, Hi Everyone!
You guys made me smile & laugh. ;D)
And I'm so glad that meditation has been good to you, Sita. :) That's great news.
Yesterday went well. I'm so glad I went to dance class. I feel totally fine. I woke up without any aches or stiffness.
Today is the same Congolese class again. But instead of 12noon, It's tonight at 5:30PM. (I prefer it earlier, but that is the only time available today.)

Permalink Reply by Windlord on August 2, 2012 at 4:17pm I can't touch my head down yet in the straddle, Sita. At least not with straight legs. Which part do you stick on?
Maybe I'll try it w/ bent legs and see what happens.
Luv may chime in, but I'd also check with our large yoga group I know you're a part of.
We've obviously got a bunch of gumby's on this site, but the first one that popped into my head who might be able to help is Alena: http://www.30bananasaday.com/profile/Alena?xg_source=profiles_membe...
Morn:
little bike ride
pullups
CC:
-pushups--tried the next step of one hand on a basketball and other on ground. 1/15/15; 2/15/15
-a leg raise oblique variant: legs almost straight but twisted at the top of the move toward a hip 2/10, 10
One leg SQ on hill, 20 reps total, alt legs.
Then for fun, I tried it on flat ground, and actually hit 3 reps each leg.
Eve: group Insanity Asylum: Strength
finished with stretching and splitting
Found this song yest after not hearing it for a while. You know the type--one that Just makes you feel good! :)
Permalink Reply by Sita on August 2, 2012 at 5:44pm Oh yes, I'll ask on the raw yogi's thread, haven't thought of it. Didn't know Alena, thanks! The straddle with head on the floor I can do, but then what follows here I cannot do yet:
They even do this in a moderate class, which i really don't understand…I think it's not so easy.
This morning's wo:
45 min Power of Breath, I love this class, so good for detox.
Very hungry now. Got 2 kilo fresh medjool dates yesterday, I'll throw a few into my green banana/strawberry smoothie :)
Good idea WL: I'll get my bike out again too :)
And good to hear you have no stiffness/aches from the fall Aimée, probably the enhanced blood circulation by dancing speeded up healing.
Music: always nice, the oldies - been listening lately to the Kinks :)
Permalink Reply by ♥ AimeeLovesYou on August 3, 2012 at 1:41am The only thing I could say about it, which is the same thing I say for headstand, is that the hips have to be above the shoulders (as much as possible) before coming up. If you look at the model in the pic, her elbows & shoulders a way under her body. (Spreading the legs father apart might help with that.)
That's all I can say! :) Because of my neck issue, my headstand practice stopped. If I do them now, I do them on my forearms (putting all the weight there) & I have my head like a half inch off the floor, so the neck is free. So I really can't give you any practice advice. Only the things I remember from years ago.
Permalink Reply by ♥ AimeeLovesYou on August 3, 2012 at 1:43am Hello Beloved Brilliant Beings! :)
Not sure what I am doing today, but I am leaning towards a donation yoga class. I've never been to this center, but they have a 1:30PM class today by donation. I might give it a go.
I wanted to share with you my relaxing video I used yesterday to stretch after dance class. Sooooo relaxing. ;)
