It's a podcast via iTunes, one of the interviews (by Lama Tantrapa) on 'BTR: The Secrets of Qigong Masters | Blog Talk Radio' released on 04-08-'09. I had it for some time in my library and chose this to listen to during my walk/run. Now it inspired me again to do more meridian qigong; once I practiced the whole sequence daily and after 3 months was free of all symptoms while I wasn't on any special diet at the time. Things Mantak Chia said about Qi made sense about that.
I loved the Celeste-Flower Chakra meditation btw :) Did it before going to sleep and had a very good night's sleep.
- you must be feeling your upper legs Aimée! Once had a class of this style (kind of) and all was with holding the legs bend, but it is such fun!
--Ah, I'm so glad the video was relaxing for you. I feel the same. It really relaxes me.
--Here is a link to the Mantak retreat I was thinking of taking:
Maybe on day I'll go. :)
--My left hip is really bugging me. :( When I dance too much, I get some sort of bursitis thing happening. It's such a bummer. Because if that didn't catch up to my craziness, I would just keep dancing like crazy for as long as I could. But when I take too many classes back to back (classes that are very intense & fast), it catches up with me. This time I'm going to try a lot of hip stretching & rest when needed, to counter balance the bursitis symptoms.
Hello Amanda! :) Your numbers look great!
Hope you are having fun on this beautiful Monday.
The days keep flying! :)
30 min Standing Pose Sequence for Strength, yoga class. I thought let's take it easy today…but this was a quite sweaty half hour!
Tai chi-24 forms to harmonize the qi flow in the body. Today I'll study some meridian qigong to take it up again this week.
Will have a green pineapple/banana smoothie for breakfast :)
Have a lovely Monday!
Sita, when is your birthday? :)
Yes, we must know of any Birfdays! They don't all register now in the sidebar, I think because of our plethora of members.
Luv, I wonder if dance might figure at all in your future beyond your personal fitness. I bet you'd be a great teacher as it's obviously in your blood!
Had an ultra bizzy past few days, what with family (since departed) and a 20hr safety class over the weekend.
Sand Beachball play
50 min Yoga and Splitting (including your recommended technique, B. I can clasp my paws in prayer already, but am a good 4-5 inches off the ground in both front and side splits still. But I'll keep at it, and if you have any more ideas or links to a vid with whose ideas you do agree, pls pass it on.
Fri: 25m yoga/splits
Sat: Nuffin but sittin' on my tuffin
Sun: Not much more other than a couple fun team search n rescue exercises
back at it with 20m Yoga
bike ride to park
Tabata sprints of 8x: 30on/10off; 20/10; 10/10; and 5/10--16 min total, broken by more
successfully moved on to step 9 of the ab series
hit 20 reps twice on my right leg for the one leg SQ braced on a basketball, counterweighted. less flexible left leg needs more time to catch up.
finished with splitting; the bound king pigeon was a bit easier
Ha! of the day:
I checked out some items at the library, whose electronic gate beeped at me on the way out. There's always a bored security guard present there who somewhat lackadaisically decided to check my items. But when I pulled out my proof-of-receipt, it tore into 3 pieces like a puzzle. Not wanting to mess with it, the guard just said I was ok to go.
I responded: "Why, because I've proven my ineptitude as a criminal?"
He started laughing so hard, he had to cover his face!
Always nice to brighten someone's day :D
20 min Madhur Flow for a warming up to prepare for an other advanced yoga class
10 min rebounding (not exciting, but it gave a nice sweat)
31 min Radical Flow, the advanced class - I could do all the binds! And did the tripod-headstand with a wall supporting, but could pull up into it and go down again into the crow. That felt so amazing :) Oh, I guess my neck problem is gone! Forgot all about it :) And also….ended with a full lotus, held it longer than before with ease, thanks to the intense class.
He-he….well, my birthday is in a few days: this Saturday. It was a long long time ago :) Ok, here it is: 1954. How about yours and WL's? I don't celebrate it like most people do, but enjoy it very much by being away if possible, going somewhere nice, having a fun day :)
Yes, it feels good to make someone laugh WL :) I had it the other day in the elevator. Someone ran to the open door to get in before it closed and I suddenly stretched out my leg (like in karate) to put my foot before the sensor, so he could get in. All the people inside the elevator bursted into laughing! - Didn't know it was funny, but it felt good, especially because it was in a hospital :)
If there's no other choice for enough calories from raw, it's better to eat millet or quinoa in stead of rice - is my experience. Rice gives me inflammation too.
Have a great trip to the mountains!
49 min Sura Flow: Active Practice. A blend of Kundalini yoga, Pilates and Tai-Chi like movements from the Hara.
Having a huge banana/strawberry-lettuce smoothie and may go for an hour walk in the forest later. After all the rain we have sunny days now, feels like being on vacation :)
Ciao amici! Buona giornata ;)
Hi Helen - Enjoy your trip tomorrow. :) Sounds lovely.
And no worries about food. You'll do the best you can, & that is always the best you can do! :D) Life is spontaneous & unpredictable & full of opportunity.
Hi Sita- Ah! It's this Saturday! How fantastic! :) Wishing you a peaceful birthday of you in all your glory. Just as you are. My best birthdays are the ones that I keep very simple.
And your elevator story was funny. ;D) They probably didn't expect such a serene lady to jump to help someone, with a karate kick in the air to hold the door! I wish I was there.
Hi WL- Thanks for the dance moves & encouragement! I really like dance, not sure if there is ever going to be anything else that comes out of it. I have quite a few injuries that stir up when I dance a lot. So that is something I have to manage when I feel like digging deeper into dance. But I definitely think that I want to study under this Congolese teacher that I recently found. Her classes are really wonderful. I would love to learn as much as I can from her, & then maybe one day, pass on what I learned. There are many ways to share what one knows, so who knows what form it may take. It may be something unexpected.
Hi Everyone! Yesterday I was in Jury duty all day & then I had to go to work after that. Today I am going to Congolese dance class at 5:30PM. Yay! ;D)
Nice job on that Crow/HS transition, Sita. Proof of major strength and balance work there.
And in case I forget to mention it, Happy Pre-Birthday! Many years ago, you say? Wouldn't know it by your attitude and daily accomplishments. Keep kickin' it, Karate Girl!
Even if you had to bow out, well done in your tourney, Helen. That's some serious stamina to be running around all day long. I assume it's highly anaerobic with many periods of active rest and all out sprints?
Enjoy your trip to CO! Plain potatoes (or sweet potatoes or sweet squashes, even better) can also serve in a pinch if you prefer to be grain free. Also, you can never have too many dates on hand during a road trip. Combined with greens or celery, that should keep you adequately nourished in those places with out much fresh munch.
Have I got a must see vid! We all here lead active lives and on occasion suffer the odd tweak or twinge. Standard fitness protocol is RICE (Rest/Ice/Compression/Elevation). See why much of that notion is officially out the window with "new" findings based on physiology, experience, and logic. Watch all the way to the end for an astounding story of healing:
Yest: felt drained but still mustered the energy for 55 min of Taebo Advanced
and split training. 40 min walk at nite
Today: scored about 12 hrs of sack time, so back at it today:
1.5 mi bike ride to/from park
pullups (hit 11 consecutive this time)
a sand circuit:
-20 heavy rock swings
-10 Rock SQ Clean stand-n-throw
-2 lengths volleyball court bear crawl
20 overhead rock slams
group Insanity Fast and Furious, 22m
P90X2 Ab Ripper, 15m
P90X, Shoulder/Arms, 40m
