Sita, I've actually been taking part in 3 separate martial arty classes. 1. One is more informal in nature, with some useful defensive combos, and occasional nunchuck work. 2. The kickboxing is more aerobic/dancey with plenty of punches and kicks. 3. The most formal style is tang soo do, a more grounded, precise relative of the high-flying Taekwondo.
Play: running and jumping day (distances approximate)
6 striders
10x 10 yd sprint starts
4x 100 yd sprints
1x 800 yd
mixed with long jumps and vertical jumps.
A few cartwheels.
Not even what felt like a bee sting slowed me down!
Permalink Reply by Sita on June 8, 2012 at 6:57pm Yesterday there was no time in the morning, so I skipped a workout. This morning:
61 min Light-hearted Vinyasa Flow. All feels opened up, it made a full lotus possible after class :)
Aimée, you're right, one has to dedicate time to do yoga for a 100 percent. If I just would go to bed earlier, then I'd do yoga at 6:00 a.m. so it won't matter if I have a busy day after that.
- I hope the bird will be rescued!
Interesting classes in martial arts, Shifu WL. All in all you have such a variety in workouts! Running, jumping, CC, yoga, qigong, playgrounds, tires etc. :) If I hadn't myopia to slow down my reactions, i think I'd do more martial arts too.
Bee sting? Yikes!
Permalink Reply by ♥ AimeeLovesYou on June 9, 2012 at 1:54am :) Hi Sita!: Yes, it's all about priorities & making a choice. I have so man things that I love, that I am drawn to do. Sometimes I need to be more clear with myself & say "Aimee! It's Ok. Just Choose. No worries. Enjoy your choice fully."
:) Hi WL!: We tried giving it yummy bird food. But it is LOADED with food because it's trapped in a cafeteria! ;D) (*laughing*) It's not going for any of our tricks, traps, or food because it lives in an all-you-can-eat environment. Food is everywhere! ;) But I will keep trying. What have a got to lose?
:) Hello All Beloved Beings!: This is the scoop for today.... 4:50PM ZUMBA CLASS! I can't believe my ears & eyes! I am so excited! And before that, I have a sunbathing session at 2:30PM & I will do a bit of stretching & an inversion board session before that. Oo la la... it's going to be nice. Today will be bliss. ;)

I'm also considering adding an Osho meditation to my weekly schedule: (I might try it on Monday morning & see how I feel about it.)
Here is a link with more INFO.

UPDATE: Holy moly. I just got home from Zumba. That was amazing & intense! So much fun, but I was so out of shape -- I was foaming at the mouth! (*laughing*) I was dancing my a** off. But I was working like crazy to keep the intensity & pace. I haven't been to dance class in almost a year! (The knee injury put me out for 6 months & the rest was just weather induced laziness or lack of interest.) Nothing like throwing oneself back in the mix to see what happens (*laughing*). ;D) I'll be back again to torture myself (I mean tickle myself :)) for the next 3 Fridays. I have a class card! (*evil hands rubbing*)
Permalink Reply by Sita on June 9, 2012 at 6:36pm Just a quick post...
Sounds like fun, Aimée! Exhausting too :D in a nice way.
This morning I did:
60 min Hip and Hamstrings Flexibility, a Pranavayu class. Still working on the lotus :) It's not a sweaty class at all, lately I find myself preferring classes that make me feel totally warmed up.
Having a large green banana/pineapple smoothie now for breakfast ;) Plan for today and tomorrow is clearing more clutter again.
Have a wonderful weekend all!
Permalink Reply by Sita on June 10, 2012 at 7:15pm 1hour 22min Guided-Ashtanga-Half-Primary series. Working hard, but it was not that exhausting as some time ago :)
Reward: 1.75 liter green banana/pineapple smoothie :)
There's a great documentary (to see for members) about Ashtanga yoga on MYO. A superb demonstration with detailed info on the specific benefits of the poses. Before it starts, you see the yogi practicing at home, his daughter plays beside him and finds something interesting:
Permalink Reply by ♥ AimeeLovesYou on June 11, 2012 at 3:42am Sita you are on a roll! ;D) I love all the yoga & smoothies you are having fun with. Your life sounds so juicy & free-flowing. ;)
Yes, that Zumba class was a bit exhausting. I'm feeling some delayed soreness from it. (Even in my back & feet.)

Hello Glorious Divine Living Beings! ;D)
I posted my Sunday blog post for the week. Check it out if you like: BLOG LINK
Yesterday was about 6 hours of clearing out 3 closets & rearranging things. I definitely felt active all day. (Plus a bit sore from Friday's workout.)
Today will be some walking around town & maybe a trip to the park with friends. Nice & easy, enjoying the sunny weather.
Have a great Sunday!
Permalink Reply by Sita on June 11, 2012 at 10:28pm Yesterday cleaned the house too, moved some things in the garage.
Today:
25 min Shiva Street yoga class, just right to ease some muscle pain from yesterday. The knees appreciated it that I left them alone :) Lotus will come in time, I believe now.
7 min taichi 24-forms
10 min meridian qigong
Thanks Aimée, yes I feel happy with the time I have right now, that makes life more free-flowing :)
Will catch up with your blog!
I'm reading Wild by Cheryl Strayed at the moment (tonight I woke up and couldn't sleep, so read 2 hours more), and although it is totally different from the PCT, I'd love to walk a part of the trail to Santiago de Compostela one day! I might need a cart for the bananas :D
Permalink Reply by ♥ AimeeLovesYou on June 12, 2012 at 7:36am Hi Sita! :) I do that often. Whenever I can't fall asleep easily, I just sit right up & start reading or listening to something that inspires me. I actually love the deep silence of the night & early morning hours. So I am often open to spending that time awake & enjoying it (until I get too sleepy).

Hi Everyone! :)
Today I skipped the Dancing Meditation idea & I went back to sorting out a room & a closet. I also took some time to take a chilly-cloudy-windy rooftop sun bath! It felt very energizing & exciting. Every cool breeze felt like a tickle. ;D)
Permalink Reply by Windlord on June 12, 2012 at 4:31pm Love the pic of the yogi and his snacking baby. Give that kid a watermelon!

Wow, what a cool rock. I would love to see it in person.
It's best to do Zumba with socks & shoes. Only because it gets quite sweaty -- & if your moist feet rub too much on the sticky (non-slip) floor (or in your shoes), you'll get blisters really fast.
