Cheers!!
And Fruit On!!
Permalink Reply by Nik Neymlis on May 9, 2012 at 3:06am It was hard for me too at first but after time, many cooked foods will seem disgusting. It just won't seem like food after a while. My husband is a cook too but he is eating way more fruit and has starting running and weight training.
I remember at first I would sometimes need to go for a walk during the cooked meal time, or sometimes play piano for husband and the kiddos while they ate, so i wouldn't cave. Since then all 3 kids have gone vegan on their own and it's much less of an issue for me now. Your body will come to prefer the sweetness and juiciness.
Also I find it very hard to eat anything else after an 8 banana smoothie.
Permalink Reply by Fruit fly on May 9, 2012 at 5:06am eat more and let your mind to detox, you are still thinking the same, and body can detox, but you must detox your thinking as well...meditate and carb up or sleep and water a lot and long walk and so what is said here. It is challenge, coz detox emotions is more than just a food.
Permalink Reply by cmiaino on May 9, 2012 at 6:30am Last night I cooked chicken (for my boyfriend) for the first time since I became HCRV... I was disgusted to touch the meat but i sucked it up and cooked it and I won't lie it smelled amazing but I know that it smells better than it tastes. Just remember all the reasons why you are not eating animals and the cravings will go away. And definitely have fruit around.
Permalink Reply by Nik Neymlis on May 9, 2012 at 8:27am Thank you all for your encouraging responses!! I love the feedback, and it helps keep me on track to have the support of others. Even if I have never met you, or talked to you personally - it is really helpful. I went and signed up at Planet Fitness and am staying focused on improving my health from the inside out.
Permalink Reply by Myca on May 9, 2012 at 8:40am I cook and I sit down at the table when they eat. I make a smoothie or eat some fruit. My family has gone almost completely vegan recently. Prior to that, they ate full SAD.
It was very hard but we like our family time. We do other things at the table...puzzles, games, projects so meals generally end up going into an activity.
Many times the kids join me if I sit at the table with my smoothies, with empty cups in hand. I found that the whole raw food lifestyle seems to be a journey. It is never still.
