Hi there, I'd really need your input on what happened me last night.
So what happened was I got really bad stomach cramps. It basically felt like my stomach, upper parts, were cramping – intense sharp pain, varying from manageable to just wanting to lie down and scream/throwing up. Location shifted around a bit, from left to center to right etc. Aside from the pain, I was fine (no fever, no dizziness, no nausea). Forced myself to throw up, but didn't help. Tried eating a little, but didn't help.
After about four hours (at around 10 PM) of this not getting better, and not knowing what was wrong, I decided to head to the ER. Some blood was drawn and then I ended up waiting for a doc to arrive. While waiting, the pain basically stayed the same for the next two hours. Then it increased. And the next thing, it faded and was within ten minutes almost completely gone (oh the relief!).
Finally got to be examined by the doc, but all seemed fine. Blood tests were all good, too (good to know!), and he couldn't do much but to send me home and tell me to come back if the pain got back.
I've been following the 80/10/10 strictly last 22 days, after 2 months vegan, after 6 years vegetarian. Last couple of weeks my meals have basically been mono-fruit (mostly melon, oranges, grapes, bananas) and some vegetables+nuts/avocado in the evening. Yesterday, I had 8 or 9 bananas for breakfast, and around 1.5 kg of apples for lunch (at around 1 PM). I had apples for dinner the day before that, but those two meals were my first mono-apple. Never had troubles with apples before though, but never ate that much in one go either. Just before the pain started, I had a work-out at the gym (where I felt really good).
I've had some problems eating the large quantities of fruit, and have repeatedly had stomach aches after eating too much too fast. Those have been of another kind though, and generally have passed within 15 minutes, leaving me feel fine.
So I'm at a loss what to make of this. Was it something I ate? The apples maybe? Maybe In combination with working out on an empty stomach? Or maybe the diet in general, my stomach protesting the last weeks' large quantities of fruit? And where to go from here? Have faith in the fruit? Add in some cooked food? On one hand, I really believe in the diet, but I can't just ignore what happened to me, either.
Any of you had any similar experiences? I'm really in the need of help here!
